Own quality on complex financial implementations
At Craft it, we help financial institutions solve complex problems at the intersection of credit risk, regulation, data, and technology.
As a focused team, we work with large international financial institutions across Europe, the US, and beyond.
This means you will own real client deliveries : designing test strategies, building automation, validating implementations, and being the QA point of contact on your workstream.
Our work is hands-on and closely tied to delivery. Quality is not a separate phase : it is part of how we build, configure, and release.
We are looking for a QA Engineer with solid testing experience, strong autonomy, and the ability to bring structure to complex environments. You will work directly with senior consultants, clients, and our QA Architect, and you will help our junior QA engineers grow.
What you will do
You will own quality on assigned workstreams and contribute to the practice as it grows. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with project teams and clients.
You will be responsible for:
- designing test strategies for client implementations (functional, regression, UAT)
- writing and maintaining automated tests in Playwright with TypeScript
- contributing to and improving our test automation framework and practices
- leading test execution cycles end-to-end, from planning to validation
- being the QA point of contact for your workstream, with both internal teams and clients
- preparing and validating test data, including direct database queries (SQL)
- conducting API-level testing where relevant
- producing clear, structured bug reports and defect analysis
- documenting test results, coverage, and risks in a way clients can act on
- supporting and reviewing the work of junior QA engineers
- contributing to release validation and go/no-go decisions
You will also deepen expertise in:
- banking and financial services
- credit risk and regulatory frameworks (Basel, IFRS 9)
- enterprise testing strategies (functional, regression, integration, performance)
- modern test automation patterns, tooling, and CI/CD integration
What we are looking for
You are a strong fit if you:
- have 3–7 years of QA experience, including hands-on automation
- can autonomously own a testing scope from planning to release validation
- are structured, rigorous, and bring clarity to ambiguous situations
- communicate clearly and professionally with both engineers and clients
- take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
- are fluent in English and French
You should be solid , not just familiar ,with:
- core testing concepts and strategies (functional, regression, UAT, integration)
- JavaScript or TypeScript, with hands-on Playwright experience (or equivalent modern automation framework : Cypress, Selenium, Playwright in another language and willingness to move to Playwright + TypeScript)
- SQL and database-level validation
- API testing (REST, JSON, occasionally XML)
- delivery tools such as Azure DevOps
- Git and basic CI/CD workflows
- structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis
Experience in financial services, regulated industries, or complex enterprise software is a strong plus. So is exposure to mentoring or supporting more junior engineers.
Your first months
- month 1: onboarding to our tools, framework, and active project context; getting embedded in your first workstream
- months 2–3: owning a defined test scope, contributing to the automation framework, and starting to act as QA point of contact on your project
- after 3–6 months: leading test cycles end-to-end on your workstream, mentoring junior QA engineers, and contributing to QA practice improvements alongside the QA Architect
You will work directly with our QA Architect and have regular structured feedback.
What you will get
- a meaningful role in a growing QA practice, with direct impact on how we operate
- ownership of real client deliveries from day one
- hands-on work with modern automation (Playwright, TypeScript) and the freedom to improve the framework
- a clear progression path toward QA Lead
- exposure to a domain (financial services, credit risk) where QA depth has real career value
- direct collaboration with senior consultants, clients, and the QA Architect
Why join Craft it
- a focused team of 25 people
- a growing QA practice with a clear progression path (QA Engineer → QA Lead → QA Architect)
- work on complex topics with large international clients
- real proximity to clients and project outcomes
- a structured environment with high expectations
- a company committed to responsible business practices (B-Corp certification)
Practical details
- hybrid model: 3 days/week in the office
- Brussels-based, with international client exposure
A flexible compensation package,including:
- a mobility budget tailored to your needs
- monthly homeworking allowance
- monthly internet allowance
- meal vouchers (Monizze)
- Eco vouchers (Monizze)
- comprehensive hospital insurance (DKV)
- group pension insurance
Recruitment process
- initial screening call
- two interview rounds
- a technical exercise during the second round (e.g. reviewing a test strategy, writing or refactoring an automated test, or analysing a defect scenario)
