🚀 Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today’s digital world, payments often still feel outdated: random delays and confusing rules make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid. The European Payments Initiative (EPI) is here to change all that, forever.

With Wero, our digital wallet, we make sending and receiving money simple, seamless and secure across France, Belgium and Germany, with more countries and omnichannel solutions coming soon. Supported by 16 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, EPI is building a new, proudly European payment system: easy, instant and transparent, all for the greater good.

🔎 What's in it for you

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead a crucial new project from scratch for EPI. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in product management, particularly within the fintech or payments industry. You will be responsible for setting and communicating a compelling product vision, managing the strategic roadmap, and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

At EPI, we embrace a remote-first culture, enabling our teams to work remotely from the country they are based in, with in-person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.

🐝 About the team

You will be part of a Pan-European Product and Engineering team that operates in an Agile environment. You’ll work closely, and fully remotely with experts in Product Management, Product Design, Web Dev, Mobile Dev, Backend Dev, QA and DevOps from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and other European locations.

💥 Your impact

  • Demonstrated ability to define and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with company goals

  • Develop and manage a strategic roadmap for our in-store payment initiative, including key milestones, features, and long-term enhancements

  • Prioritize product features based on ROI, user needs, and market trends, with a clear understanding of how product decisions impact business metrics

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, conduct competitor analysis, and leverage user feedback and data-driven research to continuously optimize product performance

  • Provide regular updates to the Head of Product on the current status of the in-store payment product development cycle

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, designers, marketing, sales, and customer support, to translate insights into actionable development tasks and ensure successful in-store payment product delivery

  • Make informed trade-offs between technical constraints and product features, ensuring alignment between engineering capabilities and product vision

  • Engage with EPI’s member banks to align on the strategic roadmap and explore future development opportunities for in-store payment

  • Represent EPI and advocate for its interests in the in-store payment domain with both internal and external stakeholders

🕵🏻‍♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements

  • Extensive experience in product management within fintech, payments, or other regulated financial environments, with a senior level of responsibility

  • Proven experience building and scaling payment or wallet products, including in-store / POS use cases, contactless payments (NFC), digitised cards, and tokenised payment flows

  • Strong understanding of mobile payment ecosystems, including digital wallet architectures, card-based payment models, and their technical and regulatory constraints

  • Solid knowledge of the payments industry, including security, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to in-store and consumer payments

  • Good understanding of the physical acceptance ecosystem (merchants, terminals, acquirers, acceptance constraints) as a strong asset

  • Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end product ownership, define product strategy, and drive prioritisation in complex, multi-stakeholder environments

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align executives, banks, and cross-functional teams

  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, multicultural, pan-European environment, with strong collaboration practices; fluent in English (C1/C2), additional European languages are a plus

🪜 If this looks like you, the recruitment steps are:

  1. A first call with one of our recruiters

  2. A case study and Tech-Product discussion with the team

  3. Interview with the Hiring manager
