🚀 Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today’s digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid.

The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations.

Wero is live in Belgium, France and Germany and launching very soon in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Backed by 16 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we’re building a brand new, proudly European payment system. Why not join us?

🔎 What's in it for you

Tired of working in highly fragmented tax environments with heavy legacy constraints? At EPI, you’ll help build a tax framework from the ground up in a fast-scaling fintech

Want to move beyond pure compliance into strategic impact? This role combines tax structuring, advisory and business partnership in a pan-European setup

At EPI, we embrace a remote-first culture, enabling our teams to work remotely from the country they are based in, with in-person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.

  • Support strategic decision-making by providing clear, business-oriented tax insights

  • Be the point of contact for tax authorities

💻 Technology stack

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 (tax postings, GL, provisioning inputs)

  • Excel (tax provisioning models, transfer pricing documentation)

  • Tax reporting and compliance tools

  • Data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) are a plus

🕵🏻‍♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements

  • +10 years of experience in tax, ideally within international groups, fintech, or financial services

  • Strong expertise in European tax frameworks, including corporate tax and VAT in cross-border environments

  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working in a scale-up or transformation environment would be a strong plus

  • Familiarity with regulated financial or payments institutions is highly valued

  • Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2); additional European languages are a plus

  • Share our values

  • Thrive in a remote-first, multicultural environment

🪜 If this looks like you, the recruitment steps are:

  • A first call with one of our recruiters

  • A team interview focused on your experience and strategic approach

  • You are not comfortable navigating ambiguity in a scale-up context
