As a Senior Data Science Engineer, your role is to give us the ability to test ideas properly.

The data we work with is rarely perfect. It’s often incomplete, distributed across systems, and structured differently from one customer to another. Before meaningful experimentation can happen, someone needs to make that data usable. That’s where you come in.

You’ll gather, clean and prepare real-world banking data so that new analytical approaches can be tested and evaluated. You’ll help us understand what works, what doesn’t, and why.

This is an applied role focused on experimentation, structured thinking and practical problem-solving — not academic research and not a delivery consulting position.

What You’ll Do

• Gather and consolidate complex customer datasets from multiple sources

• Clean and structure messy data so it can support meaningful analysis

• Test analytical approaches using existing tools and techniques

• Evaluate performance against real use cases (e.g. detecting fraud earlier, reducing false positives)

• Design experiments that are robust, transparent and reproducible

• Translate business objectives into structured analytical questions

• Explain findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Contribute to improving our analytical methods over time

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in applied data science, analytics or machine learning

• Strong working knowledge of Python

• Experience working with imperfect, real-world datasets

• Comfortable using existing tools effectively rather than building everything from scratch

• MSc or equivalent experience in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field

Banking or financial crime experience is interesting but not required.
