Senior Solutions Software Engineer

Join us as a Senior Solutions Software Engineer and you’ll be part of a collaborative team designing and delivering tailored software solutions for our customers. This is a delivery-focused engineering role — rather than working on the core product roadmap, you’ll focus on extending, integrating, and customising our platform to solve customer-specific challenges.

Your work goes beyond coding. You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle, from shaping technical requirements through to high-quality deployments.

You’ll partner closely with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to solve complex problems and deliver real value.

Your role

• Design, develop, and customise software components that integrate our platform into customer environments

• Work with analysts to translate business requirements into clear, effective technical solutions

• Contribute to planning, estimation, and delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard

• Engage directly with customers to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure alignment throughout delivery

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Bring a customer-first mindset to every project while maintaining strong engineering discipline

• Leverage modern development tooling, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve delivery speed and code quality

• Apply AI pragmatically to real engineering problems — for example automating repetitive tasks, generating relevant test data, and improving efficiency in delivery workflows

• Contribute to how we use AI in engineering — helping define where it adds value and where strong engineering judgement is critical

About You

You’re an experienced software engineer who’s comfortable taking ownership of delivery and working with a high degree of independence. You enjoy solving ambiguous, real-world problems and turning customer needs into robust, well-designed software.

You balance strong technical judgement with a practical, customer-focused mindset, and you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You bring solid Java development experience, including writing well-structured, testable code, and you take pride in quality and maintainability.

You work well as part of a team, see work through end-to-end, and are motivated by delivering solutions that genuinely work in live customer environments. You may also be interested in mentoring others and growing into a leadership role over time.

You take a structured approach to problem-solving, focusing on delivering complete, well-tested solutions rather than rushing through partial implementations. You’re comfortable explaining your thinking and walking others through your code, and you value clarity, simplicity, and quality over unnecessary complexity.

You’re also open to using AI as part of your development workflow — not as a shortcut, but as a tool to enhance productivity while maintaining full ownership of the code you deliver.

Experience that will support success

• Working with technologies such as Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, or Gradle

• Exposure to financial services, regulatory, or other data-intensive software environments

• Delivering software in Agile or iterative development settings

• Collaborating across teams while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders

• Strong experience writing and maintaining unit-tested backend systems

• Experience working on systems where correctness, reliability, and data integrity are critical

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude or similar)

• Interest in emerging approaches to AI-augmented engineering workflows

Our interview process is designed to reflect how we work in practice.

You’ll complete a structured technical exercise focused on solving a problem step by step. We’re less interested in how far you get, and more interested in how you approach the problem — writing clear, testable code, explaining your thinking, and making sensible prioritisation decisions under time constraints.

You’ll also be asked to talk through projects you’ve worked on and your specific contribution, so we can understand how you design, build, and deliver software in real-world environments.
