Business intelligence Team Lead

As we continue shaping the future of payments, we are looking for an experienced Business intelligence Team Lead to join our growing team.

As Business intelligence Team Lead you will be responsible for establishing and driving a new Analytics function within myPOS. This role will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, visualizations, and analytics. The Analytics Team Lead will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver data-driven insights that support decision-making across various departments. You will play a key role in building a strong data-driven culture by ensuring that analytics solutions are aligned with business goals and provide actionable insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Analytics Strategy & Development: Develop and implement the analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Lead the design and execution of a scalable analytics framework that meets diverse business needs.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a team of analysts and analytics engineers. Provide mentorship, set clear goals, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
  • Dashboard & Report Creation: Develop, manage, and maintain interactive and visually compelling dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Power BI. Ensure that the solutions provide meaningful insights and support key decision-making processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business leaders across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, regulated entities, Data Product management & data science, and other functions to identify and prioritize analytics needs. Translate business requirements into technical specifications to create impactful analytics solutions.
  • Data Integration & Management: Work with Data Engineering and IT teams to integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility. Oversee the creation and maintenance of robust data models to support complex analytics. Design and operate data marts / warehouses suited for specific business needs.
  • Proactive analytics: Develop knowledge of the available data within the business and proactively propose new metrics and reports to better track, understand, or optimize the business and deliver the value creation plan.
  • Training & User Adoption: Drive user adoption by delivering training sessions and creating documentation to help end-users understand and leverage the BI tools effectively. Act as a subject matter expert in Power BI and data visualization best practices. Continuously optimize BI solutions to enhance performance, usability, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Project Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of BI projects, ensuring relevant prioritisation and on-time delivery within scope and budget. Communicate progress to stakeholders and proactively address any challenges.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role. Previous experience in leading a BI or Analytics team is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI (or other BI tools, e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL for data querying and aggregation.
  • Familiarity with data lakes and warehouses and cloud platforms (preferentially GCP).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of key business processes and KPIs across functions such as Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI (or other BI tools, e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL for data querying and aggregation.
  • Familiarity with data lakes and warehouses and cloud platforms (preferentially GCP).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience with Python or similar tools for advanced analytics and automation.
  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of alternative data sets available on the market
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in BI and analytics.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A personal style that demonstrates authority, commitment and consistency, and inspires trust and confidence
  • Fluent in English
