About the role:

As an Indirect Tax Expert, you’ll support VAT compliance and optimization across the supply chain, lead tax process improvements, and implement tax requirements in ERP systems. This role combines tax expertise with technology, offering a dynamic environment for a proactive professional with strong analytical and communication skills.

What you’ll do:

• Supporting the business with optimizing the VAT setup of myPOS’ supply chain, including:

- Definition of Indirect Tax requirements for existing and new projects of the VAT impact to ensure practical implementation of such requirements in internal systems

- Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving Indirect Tax processes and drive the initiation and implementation thereof

• Monitor and implement Indirect Tax requirements (and guidelines) in relevant end-to-end processes, including systems such as ERP
• Monitor developments in the field of e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations and drive the implementation process thereof
• Key contact point with external providers to ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT returns completion
• Support / Lead VAT Audits
• Support Financial Accountants with the reconciliation of revenue, purchase, output VAT and input VAT with financials
• Support (Deputy) Head of Tax to drive efficiency, quality improvements and Tax Technology projects from end-to-end
• Support (Deputy) Head of Tax with other ad hoc projects as and when required

This role is perfect for you if you have:

• Master’s (or Bachelor’s) degree in (Indirect) Taxation and/or Business Economics/Administration
• 4 to 8 years’ experience as an in-house Indirect Tax specialist or in a Big 4 tax consultancy firm
• A strong understanding of global Indirect Tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Experience with process automation and Indirect Tax technology
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English
• Experience with Indirect Tax setup in (ERP) systems is a strong plus
• The ideal candidate is a technology enthusiast, a team player who can navigate through complex indirect tax regulations while maintaining a practical approach
• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy, as well as strong collaboration and communication skills
