About the role:

We're looking for a Senior Reconciliation Accountant to own complex balance sheet reconciliations across multiple systems - bank, cash, e-money, settlement and funds-in-transit. You'll investigate complex items, prepare GL entries, conduct quality reviews and provide technical guidance to the reconciliation team. Beyond day-to-day execution, you'll drive continuous improvement, strengthen controls and identify automation opportunities. This is a hands-on role where you'll make a real impact on how the team operates.

What you'll do:

• Perform reconciliations across bank, cash, e-money, settlement, funds-in-transit and other balance sheet accounts

• Prepare GL journal entries and accounting adjustments with full supporting documentation

• Extract, validate and analyse data from banking platforms, settlement reports and relevant systems

• Investigate complex, unreconciled and aged items, performing root-cause analysis and coordinating resolutions

• Maintain and review reconciliation working papers, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the team

• Conduct weekly quality and control reviews to verify required controls are performed and evidenced

• Provide technical guidance and support to Reconciliation Accountants on complex matters

• Develop, enhance and maintain reconciliation templates, procedures and best practices

• Drive automation, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives

• Monitor progress against deadlines and escalate delays, risks or resource constraints early

This role is perfect for you if you have:

• A university degree in finance, accounting, economics, banking, business administration or related field

• Relevant professional experience in accounting, reconciliations or finance operations

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong general computer proficiency

• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)

• Strong analytical, organisational and communication abilities with meticulous attention to detail

• Proven ability to prioritise workload and deliver against agreed deadlines

• Demonstrated experience reviewing work, improving processes and analysing complex reconciliation items

• Ability to provide technical guidance and coordinate priorities independently, without direct people management responsibility

• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls and regulatory requirements
