CONTEXT

As Paynovate continues to scale its activities across 6 entities in Belgium, France and United Kingdom, financial visibility and control are becoming increasingly strategic.
To support this growth and and ensure sound decision-making in a highly transactional and regulated environment, we are strengthening our finance team with a Senior Controller.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll act as a business partner across teams, driving performance, compliance, and strategic alignment across Paynovate’s diverse products and geographies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Financial Controlling & Reporting

• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and quarterly results across 6 entities, ensuring data accuracy and integrity

• Build and continuously improve automated performance dashboards using Excel, SQL, or BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, Qlik Sense, ...)

• Act as the link between accounting (currently using Horus) and final management reporting

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Analysis

• Lead and challenge annual budgeting, mid-year review, and rolling forecast processes aligned with business priorities

• Analyze variances, trends, and cash-flow performance to inform strategic decisions and recommend corrective actions

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with business teams across different product lines and markets to understand key drivers of growth and profitability

• Provide a financial perspective in strategic discussions and proactively challenge to support data-driven decisions

Operational & Process Optimization

• Oversee supplier invoices validation and contract monitoring and contribute to pricing and billing optimization

• Strengthen internal controls and modernize controlling processes through digitization and smarter tools

• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving financial efficiency and reporting quality

KPI Framework & Data Management

• Design and own the company-wide KPI framework (financial and operational)

• Support the structuring of Paynovate’s financial database, tracking metrics such as transaction volumes, active cards, and client activity to optimize performance and support data-driven decisions

THE RIGHT FIT

• 6+ years of relevant experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or audit, ideally within dynamic or regulated industries

• Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret and synthesize complex data and communicate it clearly.

• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring in fast-paced environments.

• Comfortable managing complexity across multiple products, entities, and geographies.

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, Qlik Sense) is a plus.

• Business-oriented: able to link financial insights to operational realities and strategic objectives.

• Rigorous, reliable, and proactive

• Fluency in English; French or Dutch is a strong asset
