CONTEXT

This role sits at the heart of our payment platform. It is a full-stack role with a strong backend focus, combining PHP and TypeScript, and operating mainly on backend systems in a regulated financial environment. Code quality, testing, and reliability are critical in this context. As the platform continues to grow, the focus is on balancing feature development with solid test automation and long-term maintainability.



WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and maintain backend services, primarily in TypeScript
• Work on and maintain parts of the codebase written in plain PHP
• Maintain and improve existing backend services, including debugging and issue resolution
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and E2E)
• Build, validate, and maintain APIs and financial integrations
• Contribute to code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
• Continuously improve engineering standards, development processes, and test coverage
• Contribute to ongoing initiatives such as technical debt reduction, API improvements, and new payment and banking capabilities
• Work on different product areas depending on priorities, with a strong focus on stability and quality

THE RIGHT FIT

We are looking for someone who can progressively become autonomous in navigating the codebase, bring thoughtful technical input, and collaborate proactively with the team.

• This role is best suited for a mid to confirmed Software Engineer who enjoys improving existing systems
• Strong background in TypeScript and PHP, with a willingness to work across both
• Solid foundations in backend development and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
• Hands-on experience with test automation (unit, integration, E2E)
• Good understanding of APIs, backend systems, and relational databases (MySQL or equivalent)
• Interest in building secure, stable, and maintainable software
• Curiosity and willingness to work across different technologies and parts of the stack
• Fluent in English; French is a strong plus
• Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment
