As a growing e-money institution, we are bringing payment solutions to the next level, and you could be a part of that. As we scale our platform and product offerings, we are seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to play a critical role in defending Paynovate’s interests in the context of its activities.

Your Mission

As Senior Compliance Officer, you will play a central role in strengthening Paynovate’s AML and compliance framework across our payment activities.
Acting as a key point of expertise within the Compliance team, you will take ownership of complex compliance topics (low & medium levels), support team members in their day-to-day activities, and ensure robust, consistent, and scalable onboarding, monitoring, and oversight practices across all service lines.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on operational work with a broader oversight perspective, positioning you at the core of Paynovate’s compliance department.

Key Responsibilities

AML & Compliance Expertise

  • Handle complex AML/KYC cases
  • Ensure high-quality customer due diligence (CDD) and onboarding processes, including risk assessment and validation of complex structures.
  • Provide clear and pragmatic guidance to internal stakeholders (operations, business teams, management) on AML and compliance-related topics.
  • Take ownership of key compliance oversight topics, ensuring proper follow-up, documentation, and alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

Transaction Monitoring & Risk Assessment

  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts, ensuring timely escalation where required.
  • Assess and maintain risk classifications of clients and partners (low, medium, high), ensuring appropriate controls are applied.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of transaction monitoring practices, scenarios, and tools.

Partner & Issuing Oversight & Monitoring

  • Perform compliance oversight on partners, including agents and distributors, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of compliance practices across different business lines, activities and channels.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify gaps and contribute to the enhancement of AML and compliance processes and frameworks.
  • Actively share knowledge, provide feedback, and support the development of team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance is effectively embedded in business and operational processes.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory developments related to AML, KYC, and payment services.

Is This You?

At Paynovate, we focus on positioning the right talent in the right roles, empowering our people to drive the business forward. We seek someone who:

  • Brings at least 5 years of experience in AML/KYC and compliance within the financial sector (experience in payment services or fintech is necessary).
  • Has a strong understanding of AML regulations, customer due diligence, and risk-based approaches.
  • Is comfortable handling complex cases and acting as a subject matter expert within a team.
  • Demonstrates strong ownership, autonomy, and proactivity.
  • Enjoys working on complex, non-routine topics and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Has strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Is a team player who values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
  • Fluent in English, and either in French or Dutch.
