Your mission
As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst within Paynovate’s Second Line of Defence, you will help safeguard the integrity of our French payment activities. With a focus on a dedicated portfolio of partners, you will support timely and thorough transaction reviews, combining a responsive approach with independent, risk-based judgement.
Based in Versailles, you will join our Compliance Manager in France and work closely with our Belgian Compliance team. Together, you will support informed, consistent compliance decisions and build trusted working relationships with our partners.
What you'll do
- Investigate complex or sensitive KYT cases across our French activities, analysing transaction flows, customer profiles and supporting evidence to identify unusual patterns and potential AML/CFT risks.
- Conduct enhanced examinations where needed, retrieving information from internal systems and gathering additional evidence to resolve gaps or inconsistencies.
- Manage cases proactively, coordinating with relevant teams and following up on missing information to ensure timely, thorough reviews.
- Make independent, risk-based decisions on transaction validation and the release of blocked funds within your delegated authority, escalating concerns or cases requiring further review.
- Proactively gather relevant information across internal systems and external partners to support thorough investigations.
- Maintain clear, complete and traceable records of investigations and decisions, and communicate findings to management and the French and Belgian Compliance teams.
- Act as a trusted compliance contact for partners on transaction monitoring matters, clarifying information requirements and providing clear updates to support effective case resolution.
Is this you?
At Paynovate, we focus on positioning the right talent in the right roles, empowering our people to drive the business forward. We seek someone who:

- Has worked within a fintech, e-money institution, bank or comparable financial services environment, ideally with experience in a growing or scale-up organisation.
- Understands AML/CFT principles and applies a risk-based approach to transaction analysis.
- Goes beyond standard checks, asking relevant questions, challenging assumptions and connecting transaction data with supporting evidence.
- Makes well-supported decisions and knows when to involve colleagues or seek further expertise on complex cases.
- Communicates clearly and constructively with management, colleagues and external partners, including when explaining complex findings or requesting further evidence.
- Is comfortable using transaction monitoring tools and learning internal systems; familiarity with SEON is a plus.
- Speaks and writes fluent French and English.
