IT Workplace Support Engineer (1-3y exp)
IT, Customer Service
Brussels, Belgium
Who we are:
About the role
Qover is seeking an all-round IT Workplace Engineer —a real "Swiss Army knife" who can dive into various areas of our internal IT. We are looking for someone smart, driven, hands-on, and a natural problem-solver who is excited to grow alongside the role.
In this position, you will take ownership of the internal IT environment for your 150+ colleagues in our Brussels office. Beyond daily support, you will actively participate in key projects involving network management, hardware lifecycles, access control, and upgrading our security policies.
Note: Physical presence in our Brussels office is required for this role.
Your tasks and responsibilities
We have a lot of exciting challenges to tackle! While this is a comprehensive to-do list, we don't expect everything to be solved on day one. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Hardware & Asset Management: Define, procurement, and setup of office IT equipment (screens, keyboards, docking stations, video conferencing solutions, etc.).
- Inventory & Tooling: Build a comprehensive inventory of all active equipment per user/team, and select/implement an asset management tool for long-term tracking.
- Lifecycle Reviews: Audit current hardware to determine necessary upgrades or replacements (including Windows laptops and MacBooks).
- Endpoint Security: Own our business antivirus solution and device encryption (BitLocker/FileVault). Define and enforce policies to ensure optimal security and ensure secure recovery key management.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): Manage all user access, map out software usage across Qover, rationalize tools, and implement secure group profiles/logging. Partner with our Security team to roll out 2FA where needed.
- Lifecycle Operations: Standardize and optimize our IT onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Google Workspace Administration: Clean up, improve, and own our Google Workspace (Drive, Groups, users) and collaborate with the Security team to optimize email encryption and security features.
- Security Awareness: Co-create and deliver basic IT security training sessions for the wider company.
- Network & Infrastructure: Manage user access control, investigate secure private network options with WeWork, and deploy our VPN solution to support our flexible "Work From Anywhere" policy without losing our agile startup culture.
- Daily Support: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve daily IT issues (hardware, software, meeting room setups) and look for ways to continuously improve our setup.
- Compliance Support: Help the team address IT access and support questions during vendor approval processes, and support our ongoing ISO 27001 certification efforts.
Your Experience and skills
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar IT support or engineering role, ideally within a fast-paced structure.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of user access policies (IAM), antivirus solutions, PC/Mac support, network troubleshooting, and Google Workspace administration.
- Excellent command of English (additional languages are a huge plus!).
- A strong team-player mindset.
Your Attitude
- You genuinely enjoy handling a wide variety of IT topics and love learning new skills on the fly.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
