Job Description
The Global Interchange & Pricing – Systems team is responsible for managing the technical strategy, solutions, enablement, and maintenance of interchange fee assessment logic and programs for Visa's business globally. This individual contributor role serves as a liaison between Interchange Strategy teams and internal development teams. The role involves working on projects of low to medium complexity and coordinating the implementation of strategic interchange programs with other Visa teams and external stakeholders to ensure proper execution. The individual will develop and apply knowledge of Visa systems and processing systems to drive projects to completion.
This role requires taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and recommend Visa interchange program configurations and internal interchange processing logic enhancements to meet interchange fee program needs and successfully drive projects to completion. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, ideally with a background in Visa transaction processing coupled with operational experience. This person will think strategically and holistically about the business, be capable of identifying and resolving issues, and excel at quickly grasping and clearly communicating complex topics. They must be able to successfully work on several activities simultaneously and be a proven self-starte
Essential Functions:
- Build and enhance positive working relationships with key stakeholders and internal staff
- Understand business needs and priorities to help the team develop solutions and recommendations
- Work with direct manager to understand needed strategies and achieve results by translating business needs into specific action plans
- Support the identification and necessary Visa processing systems enhancements to successfully support Visa interchange fee programs and processing capabilities
- Manage assignments that are diverse in scope, and search out appropriate courses of action
- Gain Subject Matter Expertise (SME) of Visa internal systems processing capabilities and services through training, work experience and self-study
- Stay abreast of new rules, products and services, and industry and technology trends in support of Visa strategic goals and Client initiatives
- Use processing, technology, and business knowledge to assist stakeholders (internal and external) with inquiries related to interchange processing and fee programs
- Identify and analyze interchange processing issues with and client impacts, consistently communicate situational status and resolution
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional local and global teams
- Maintain group databases, group forms/templates and internal process flows
- Maintain team training material

- Define business requirements for new interchange programs or enhancements to existing programs
- Analyze business need and formulate implementation solutions.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholder to ensure delivery on commitments
- Set priorities, influence others, and manage stakeholder expectations
- Review technical designs, testing documents and user acceptance logs to ensure business requirements are met
- Support Merchant Specific interchange programs enablement
- Prepare and distribute interchange program implementation guides and instructions to strategic partners and their acquirers
- Manage registration, configuration, and ongoing support required to enable Merchant Fee Programs
- Manage registration, configuration, and ongoing support required to enable Visa Strategic Partner interchange programs
- Support post implementation validation activities to ensure expected interchange fee assessment is applied.
- Review Clients communications containing interchange fee programs related information.
- Support Merchant Verification Value (MVV) and Enabler Verification Value (EVV) Governance function globally.
- Maintain group databases, group forms, templates and internal process flows
- Maintain team training material
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Basic Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of work experience in card processing or financial services.
- 1-3 years of work experience supporting Visa programs including interchange fee assessment
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with Global Functions.
- Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with SQL and MicroStrategy tools is a plus.
- Ability to comprehend and translate business issues into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to investigate and obtain necessary information for projects.
- Highly motivated to learn about Visa business and systems capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a complex and often ambiguous environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,600 to 180,650 per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
