Team Summary
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.
The VCA team within Japan provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Japan, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.
VCA Managed Services members play a key role in enhancing the partnership with one of Visa Japan’s largest clients by supporting strategic planning and implementation of their most strategic initiatives.
What a Manager, VCA Managed Services does at Visa:
We are currently looking for a Manager to drive consulting engagements and support the sell-in of Visa risk and security solutions for one of our largest clients in Japan, contributing to the enhancement of their risk management and security strategies. The Manager will manage consulting projects or workstreams, facilitate the adoption of Visa’s risk and security solutions, and act as a key point of contact for the client’s risk and security initiatives, working closely with client teams, their manager, and internal local/global stakeholders as needed.
Responsibilities:

Drive initiative implementation to strengthen clients’ risk management and security capabilities by applying Visa solutions and consulting methodologies, such as clarifying key questions, gathering and analyzing quantitative data, and assisting in developing actionable recommendations in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Example areas of support include:
Supporting the development and execution of risk management and fraud prevention strategies
Assisting in the design, rollout, and enablement of new security solutions, controls, or customer authentication processes
Contributing to the adoption and implementation of Visa risk and security solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams in both English and Japanese
Build and maintain effective relationships with client risk teams, compliance managers, and key stakeholders to facilitate project execution and ensure client needs are met
Deliver high-quality project outcomes by utilizing consulting and/or product management skills, coordinating with subject matter experts such as fraud analysts, security specialists, and client service representatives in Japan and overseas
Consult with and report to their manager as needed to ensure alignment of project direction and quality of project outputs
Develop expertise in payment risk and security, identify emerging threats and trends, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice documentation
Manage project setup and administrative tasks, including preparing contracts, supporting internal reporting, and following compliance procedures to ensure smooth project delivery

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
You will bring solid professional experience and a strong curiosity about payments risk and security, eager to deepen your expertise by working with an experienced team. You are client-focused, comfortable managing risk and security projects or workstreams from planning through execution, and enjoy collaborating closely with clients to support their risk management and security objectives.
Specific skills and experience required:
-Fluent Japanese and business-level proficiency in English
-7+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, product management, project management, or risk and security roles
-Demonstrated experience managing or supporting complex, cross-functional projects
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and intellectual rigor
-Effective team player with a collaborative, diplomatic, and adaptable approach: able to work well in a matrixed organization
-High standard for quality in reports and data analysis
-Strong oral and written communication skills, including clear and professional presentations
-Self-motivated and results-driven: able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
-Flexible mindset with resilience: able to adapt to changing circumstances and client needs
-Commercial awareness, with experience supporting business case development and understanding of project ROI
-Interest in analytics and its role in informing risk management, security, and business decisions: able to generate actionable insights from data
-Willingness to consult with and report to senior team members to ensure alignment and quality outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in the payments, banking, or technology sectors: understanding of risk, fraud prevention, security, or compliance in these industries is a plus
-Experience supporting risk management, security solution implementation, or incident response initiatives
-Familiarity with statistical analysis, fraud detection, risk modeling, or security scoring methods
