Job Description

As the Marketing Manager for Central & Western Francophone Africa (CWFA) at Visa, you will play a key role in shaping the future of digital payments in one of the most dynamic and fast-growing regions. In this strategic position, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing innovative marketing strategies and campaigns that drive brand awareness, preference, and business growth across Visa’s CWFA markets, ensuring full alignment with Visa’s global and regional strategies.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver impactful, integrated marketing programs tailored to the unique needs of local consumers and businesses. Your expertise will help ensure that Visa’s marketing efforts resonate in the CWFA region and support our ambition to be the preferred payment brand.


In addition to leading marketing initiatives, you will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, partnering with them to support their business development and drive card transaction growth across the region. Your creativity, market insight, and leadership will be essential in reinforcing Visa’s position as an innovative leader in the payments industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning:
• Develop and execute integrated annual and quarterly marketing plans for the CWFA region, aligned with Visa’s business goals.
• Identify local market opportunities and insights to inform marketing strategy.

Campaign Management:
• Design, localize, and implement multi-channel campaigns
• Manage the end-to-end execution of marketing initiatives, from briefing agencies to post-campaign analysis.

Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate with country managers, product, sales, and client teams to develop joint marketing activities with key clients and partners.
• Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and strategic partners.

Brand Advocacy
• Ensure all marketing activities are consistent with Visa’s brand guidelines and voice.
• Drive brand visibility and preference in the CWFA markets.

Budget & Reporting:
• Manage and optimize the regional marketing budget.
• Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance and ROI, providing actionable insights.
• Market Understanding
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviors to inform marketing activities.
• Provide regular updates and recommendations to regional teams.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of marketing experience with increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years in a regional or multi-market role.
• Demonstrable experience managing integrated marketing campaigns, ideally in financial services, payments, fintech, or FMCG.
• Strong understanding of the CWFA markets and consumer landscape.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), proficiency in other local languages is a plus.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Data-driven approach, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and thrive in a fast paced, matrixed environment.
• Collaborative, proactive, and can-do attitude, with a willingness to take initiative and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Open-minded and adaptable, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
