Team Summary:
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.
Within VCA we have a dedicated service line, Visa Managed Services (VMS) with specialized experts who are routinely embedded into clients to offer hands on execution support. From our collective experience we have amassed an extensive set of best practices we leverage to help partners manage customer relationships, portfolio levers and product development.
What a Portfolio Optimization Director does at Visa:
As a Director in our Portfolio Optimization Practice, you will play a pivotal role in developing and expanding our Portfolio Optimization implementation consulting services across the market, focusing on key priority areas that will grow both Visa’s and the client’s business. One of the key priority areas will be issuer optimization. Potential projects include implementation key initiatives from product design and launch, sales acquisition channel optimization, portfolio management diagnostics, customer lifecycle management, portfolio migrations. You will contribute not only to implementation consulting delivery but also to developing thought leadership by creating materials such as set-plays, pitch decks, and whitepapers.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide an on-behalf of service to lead execution related discussions with the client to identify potential opportunities, develop scope, build the business case and deliver the end to end project to grow the client's portfolio
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders during implementation, building trusted relationships and managing expectations
Translate strategic portfolio recommendations into actionable project plans, mobilize teams, and ensure delivery of promised outcomes
Establish and monitor KPIs to track progress, quality, and impact of optimization implementations and ensure continuous improvement
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in portfolio optimization and project delivery and contribute to service offering development and team capability building
Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly, at times physically support implementation at the client site
Work closely across multiple team functions including wider VCA, Product, Sales, Regional and Marketing team to acquire specific subject matter expertise as needed
Oversee and manage all financial aspects of portfolio optimization implementation projects, ensuring profitability and financial health throughout the engagement lifecycle
Develop, track, and manage project budgets and proactively monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with financial targets
Provide regular financial forecasts, variance analyses, and P&L reports, highlighting risks and opportunities
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
What you will need
- Min. 12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree (E.g., MBA or Masters in relevant field)
- 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, implementation and project management roles
- Proven track record in delivering complex portfolio optimization initiatives from the issuers or fintech side
- Proven experience managing projects and cross functional teams from inception to completion
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross functional and multi disciplinary teams.
- Exceptional client and stakeholder management and communication skills
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma a plus)
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and results oriented environment
- Demonstrated experience managing, developing, and mentoring high performing teams
- Proven experience with P&L management, including budgeting, forecasting, and delivering on financial targets
- Business level English proficiency
