Job Description

Visa now seeks a competent and proactive individual to enable the teams to deliver on the related growth targets and strategic imperatives in the German market.

The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of activities ranging from target setting/tracking, reporting and scorecard management over facilitation of market-wide alignment, forums and projects to the dedicated responsibility for new-to-market initiatives and change projects.

Reporting into the Country Manager Germany, this role will work closely with team leads and senior directors in sales as well as contacts throughout the organization. As a key go-to person for the German market, they will liaise with the SCO teams in generalist and specialist sales across all pillars, functional teams in Germany and peers globally. In addition, they are responsible for evolving the market strategy to address new strategic issues and opportunities and for enabling commercial capabilities that will significantly grow Visa’s businesses and drive revenue growth and diversification. Further responsibilities include data-based discovery of untapped opportunities as well as market governance and the application of performance insights to orchestrate delivery of the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Go-to person for Germany to coordinate and reliably deliver on high-priority requests. These may include country strategy, board presentations or global business reviews, and requests for support, insights and contacts. Needs to be well connected to the whole German team
  • Facilitate business planning, linking Multi-year Strategic Outlook (MSO) to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). This includes ensuring Value-Added Services (VAS), and Commercial Money Movement (CMS) strategy, as well as Go-To-Market (GTM) plans, are fully integrated, including the distribution of targets across the German sales teams and AEs.
  • Lead the execution of cross functional initiatives that are of high strategic impact to the German business, e.g. market acceleration, GTM initiatives, alignment forums and dedicated projects. The latter include the responsibility for the successful roll-out of the new Digital Sales approach in Germany, working closely with sales leads and AEs as well as the Digital Sales organisation to identify clients and campaigns, ensuring best-in-class set-up and flawless delivery.
  • Support team leads in proactively managing the overall sales pipeline for the market, working with AEs to develop joined up plans which ensures pipeline meets or exceeds targets and data is of high quality to enable key sales analytics, opportunity analysis, trade-offs and effective prioritisation
  • Implement and run key market governance e.g., market leadership meetings (operational and strategic), team offsites and sales pipeline reviews. Coordinates review of and quality feedback for the cluster Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBR).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in financial/payment services, corporate strategy, consulting or related disciplines
  • Strong project management and presentation skills. Ability to cut through complex matters to make them succinct and actionable.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to new demands, and to juggle a variety of projects and requests without dropping the ball.
  • Experience of working in a diverse and highly-matrixed organization with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a variety of colleagues built on integrity, reliability and mutual trust.
  • Degree-level qualification, MBA preferred. Solid foundation in business principles and advanced management techniques.
  • Strong decision-making and analytical abilities, commanding financial, market, and internal data to inform strategic decisions and optimize performance.
  • Fluency in German and English
