Job Description
Visa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, North America Communications to lead strategic communications programs for our Enabler, Merchant, and Fintech (EMF) business. This role is pivotal in driving more sales for Visa from these clients through earned and owned media, speaking opportunities, and social media engagement. The ideal candidate will provide communications support to the SVP, EMF, and key members of the EMF leadership team. This role will report into the Senior Director of North America (NA) Communications and be a member of the extended EMF leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications: Develop and execute strategic communications programs to amplify the voice and brand of our EMF business externally, with a focus on creating thought leadership programs that showcase the value Visa provides to our enabler, merchant and fintech clients. This leader will create narratives and drive integrated communications programs that are inclusive of earned and owned media, social media, speaking opportunities.
Executive Communications: Provide communications support to the SVP, EMF, and key leadership members for speaking engagements, social media, and internal communications.
Event Support: Collaborate with event team to create surround sound campaigns for key EMF events such as VPF, Client Councils, Money 2020, Merchant Summit, Payment Tech Partner Forum, and others.
Client and Partner Engagement: Support both Visa-led and client/partner-led communications moments, elevating and promoting strategic partner relationships. Ensure the voice of EMF is appropriately r
Be the Voice of EMF: Ensure EMF business and client needs are reflected in internal and external communications across Visa, including Visa.com. This individual will create messaging that is unique to these segments to ensure we are taking the needs of our EMF clients into consideration when messaging and rolling out programs across North America. They will also ensure the EMF leadership team are informed and aware of comms that impact their areas (e.g. pricing change, technical letters, rule changes) and key executive communication moments with clients across Visa.
Partner Across the Organization to Drive Results: Collaborate with Global Communications, NA Communications, Client Delivery, NA Events and others to drive results for the EMF business and deepen EMF’s influence.
Essential Functions
Serve as key partner and strategic advisor to EMF executives formulating and executing thematic, consistent and impactful communications programs that drive tangible business results, growing EMF’s voice as a trusted thought leader in the industry.
Be embedded in EMF business to understand client needs and challenges in order to tailor appropriate internal and external communications narratives and programs.
Partner closely with NA/global/corporate colleagues driving external & internal communications to ensure message alignment and consistency – and to generate new content ideas.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
* 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably with both agency and large enterprise experience, within the financial services, payments, retail or technology sectors.
* Proven track record of developing and executing strategic communications programs that drive business results.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and content.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
* Experience in managing social media platforms and developing social media strategies.
* Familiarity with the enabler, merchant, and fintech ecosystems is highly desirable.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 161,500.00 to 234,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
