As part of the Visa’s Asia Pacific Consulting Practice, VCA applies deep expertise in payment industry to provide solutions and consulting services to assist clients with their key business priorities, drive growth and improve profitability. We drive tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as analytics, credit card product development, marketing, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments, among others, and solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

What will I work on in the VCA practice?

A senior director of greater China consulting group and solution engagement team lead, as well as a leader to cover Visa Managed Services for VCA, she/he will build and grow a practice for solution engagement life cycle. This includes working with Account Team to foster client requirements, building solution proposal, forming delivery team for end-to-end engagement. This job is also applying best practice for strategy planning, payment solutions, digital transformation, AI innovative solutions to Visa clients, this will help Visa and its’ clients to grow revenue and profitability, as well as control and mitigate their financial exposure.

Potential engagements could include payment digital strategy and transformation consulting, AI innovation, portfolio and product management related business process re-engineering, data consulting/solutions, consumer segmentation, and customer experience diagnostic, development of industry landscape evaluations and best practices, and consulting projects management.

Working with VCA leaders in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and across different regions. This VCA leader will be responsible for significant components of client engagements, and in some cases entire end-to-end coverage model at client site. Specifically, this will involve interacting with senior management team of clients, different business units of clients, gathering requirements from presale engagement to solutions, working with VCA delivery team to build requirements and work scope for contract signing. This will require a full interaction not only with clients but also with all Visa internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Build client engagement with solutions and proposals, as well as delivery plan, identifying dependencies, roles, and responsibilities for engagement
  • Actively engage in presale phase to solve complex problems and challenges during engagements
  • Continuously build knowledge, surfacing new insights and producing thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development
  • Identify solutions and recommendations that are linked to client objectives and result in performance improvement
  • Create compelling presentations to illustrate VCA value for presale of consulting engagements
  • Collaborate with other functional teams to gain insights and support client engagement and execution

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

A senior director of Greater China consulting group for Solution Engagement and Visa Managed Service:


Having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payment industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding. You will be comfortable in presale consulting engagement, delivery of a project, managing a project end to end and relish the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance. As a senior director for your practice, you should be a strong leader in leading large consulting team, working with client senior management team, and internal client relationship and account executives in Visa.

Specific requirements are:
• Significant experience in management or technology consulting related to payment industry
• Understanding and applied AI technology in consulting services
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
• Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, able to work effectively in matrixed organization
• Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
• Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently
• Strong leadership with ambitious to build and grow team capacity and capability

In addition, you will have:
• Language skills – strong English and Mandarin Chinese, written and verbal skills.
• At least 20 years’ experience in Financial Service Industry or consulting industry
• Strong technology advisory business (tracking records for large technical advisory services is preferred)
• Strong consulting experience preferred with large and complex project/program management skills
• Significant understanding of operation for financial institutions, and technology in payments, and cloud technology (core banking and credit card system knowledge is preferred)
• Preferred to have addition knowledge in retail industry, supply chain finance
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on large business/value cases
• Be very detail oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in solutioning
• Location: Beijing or Shanghai
• Willingness to travel (50% -70% or more)
