Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Technical Program Manager (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

  • Promote the Agile values, principles, and best practices for multiple Scrum teams.
  • Lead Scrum teams regarding decision making, dependency management, and eliminating impediments to meet sprint and quarterly execution goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers to improve, address challenges, and create a high-performing Scrum team.
  • Facilitate Scaled Agile and Scrum ceremonies to promote Agile maturity within the team.
  • Partner with other Project Management Office (PMO) resources to lead Scrum of Scrum ceremonies.
  • Deliver secure, quality working software using acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with the Product Owner, Dev/QA Leads and Architect to help the team be more predictable in delivery.
  • Promote communication between product owners, stakeholders, and development team members to ensure the highest value work is consistently being delivered.
  • Leverage Visa Agile Methodology governance requirements and ensure that the Scrum teams meet corporate goals related to Security, Operational Excellence, and Compliance.
  • Develop and leverage Visa Scaled Agile metrics and reports to help the team understand its health and progress, and to set goals.
  • Work with other Technical PMO resources to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scaled Agile and Scrum in the organization.
  • Partner with a Lead Technical Program Manager to communicate risk and mitigation plans, executive-level reporting and material for program status reporting.
  • Position reports to the employer’s Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a program management-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a program management -related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following skills:
    • Agile tools: Jira Align, Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence to lead Agile and Scales Agile Project management.
    • Delivering Projects in Cloud-based CRM Systems (Salesforce or MS Dynamics).
    • Implementing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), integrating cadence, purpose, predictability, team persistency, scope change, Dev cycle time, while demonstrating the ability to create agile working agreements and executing QEP (Quarterly Executive Planning)/PI (Program Increment) Planning.
    • Data analysis tools including SQL, Power BI and JQL tracking for proactively managing project metrics and dashboards to drive Agile process improvements.
    • Leading Sprint Planning and Execution along with understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automation tools, and System infrastructure to coordinate and deliver project releases.
    • Data mapping and data migration of stories, bugs, defects, and tasks between projects on the cloud platform Jira/Jira Align, ensuring uniformity, accuracy, data integrity and continuity.
    • Leveraging Scrum ceremonies to proactively identify and remove impediments, and managing RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) to assess and mitigate technical risks, ensuring project success.
    • Maintaining product backlog, incorporating agile methodologies within Scrum and handling requirement churn using JIRA/ JIRA ALIGN.
    • Leveraging Planning Poker method for effort estimation and MoSCoW method to prioritize user stories /tasks.
    • Leading Agile team level retrospectives, post-mortems, and RCAs (Root Cause Analysis), providing next steps, action items, and follow-up.
    • Experience with Jira to keep track of User Stories, tracking the Velocity and Capacity of the team through maintaining Burn Down and Burn up Charts.
    • Cross-collaboration to ensure user stories meet Definition of Done (DOD) before going into review and demo.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $124,700.00 USD to $199,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
