Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Head of Strategy (Senior Director) for our Issuing Solutions business. This role requires a deep understanding of the payments industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in management consulting. This individual will work closely with senior product leaders to assess industry trends, market entry, product enhancements, M&A opportunities, Go-To-Market and commercialization strategies. The Head of Strategy will report to the VP, Global Head of BPO, Strategy & Analytics for Issuing Solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Partner closely with the SVP Global Head of Issuing Solutions & VP, Global BPO, Strategy & Analytics to define and articulate the global strategy for the business unit.
- Develop business, product, and regional growth strategies tailored to industry trends.
- Identify new market opportunities, product strategy, M&A, and GTM plans with senior leaders within the Issuing Solutions organization.
- Support the development of strategic pricing initiatives across core product portfolios. Develop pricing models and recommendations to align to consumer and market growth initiatives
- For key strategic initiatives, develop execution plans and support the roll out and implementation of GTM / Commercialization plans globally and in region
- Monitor competitive intelligence and report out key finds to inform strategies
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align strategic initiatives with Visa's overall business goals and objectives. Drive Cross-functional strategic alignment with Regional VAS leaders and Visa Product / Strategy organizations
- Define and create key product and business indicators to measure performance and success.
- Manage relationships with senior executives, regional teams, and cross-functional partners across product, tech, operations, risk, finance, and more.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing strategy team.
This is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX or San Francisco Bay Area. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- You have extensive management consulting experience in Payments and Financial Services
- You have prior experience in both external and incorporate strategy functions.
- Strong command of financial, market, and consumer analytics with the ability to grasp complex and detailed issues.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategies and analytics initiatives that drive business growth and innovation.
- Experience in defining and creating key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing real-time dashboards for ongoing monitoring and analysis.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing strategy and analytics teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues across Visa functions, navigating a matrix organization.
- Strong communication skills to build executive level presentations with clear storytelling and ability to articulate live or virtually at the executive level
- Ability to build deep relationships at senior levels within the organization and navigate complex structures.
- Robust decision-making and analytical skills, willingness and credibility to get into the detail of problem solving and issues that may come up.
- Keen eye for detail with the ability to support recommendations grounded on data and facts.
- Excellent project management skills and experience in leading cross-functional teams. Able to adjust to multiple demands and constantly shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as required.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 189,800 to 329,500 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
