Job Description

The Director, VAS Commercialization plays a pivotal role within the Office of the COO, partnering closely with VAS product businesses and regional product and solutions teams to govern and enable the end-to-end process of bringing new products and services to market. This role ensures products are fit for purpose, aligned to client needs, and ready for distribution and activation at scale.

Operating at the intersection of multiple product organizations and all Visa regions, this position demands organizational savvy, strong interpersonal skills, and hands-on experience in B2B product launches. Success requires navigating complex stakeholder environments, driving speed-to-value, and leveraging global frameworks for scalability.

This is a unique opportunity to shape Visa’s commercialization excellence, collaborating with senior leaders across Product, Strategy. Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Commercialization Across PLM:
  • Govern and execute GTM activities through all PLM stages—Concept, Plan, Build, Launch, Optimize—ensuring alignment with global standards
  • Drive Global GTM Strategy & Governance:
    Oversee adherence to governance steps for product/solution GTM, Accelerate GTM Strategy and ensuring consistent standards for market readiness and availability across all regions. Manage global GTM initiatives and reporting, coordinating with regional GTM leads and global stakeholders.
  • Enable Regional Success:
    Operate as the central hub for regional GTM teams, providing enablement for sales readiness, marketing asset creation, and commercial forums. Ensure markets have the infrastructure and tools to market and sell effectively.
  • Champion AI-Driven GTM Practices:
    Integrate AI tools and templates to accelerate GTM strategy development, improve decision-making, and optimize commercialization workflows.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
    Partner with Product Managers, Pricing, Legal, Finance, and Client Services to streamline commercialization processes and ensure compliance with global frameworks.
  • Measure & Optimize Performance:
    Implement feedback loops post-launch to track product performance, gather seller insights, and inform future enhancements.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Proven track record in B2B product launches and GTM strategy execution in complex, global organizations. Strong commercialization and strategic planning skills
  • Strong understanding of PLM frameworks, commercial governance, and sales enablement practices
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across regions and functions, with exceptional communication and influencing skills
  • Experience leveraging data and AI-driven tools for GTM optimization is highly desirable
  • Commercially astute with experience of working in a fast-paced changing global matrix organization

  • An intellectually curious and self-assured but humble leader with a high degree of compassion, able to engage, enable and influence others
  • Ability to build deep relationships at senior levels within the organization and navigate complex structures

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 160,500.00 to 232,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
