Team Summary
The Legal team manages Visa’s legal affairs across the Asia Pacific region, providing strategic advice and services to support business objectives while safeguarding Visa’s brand and minimizing legal and regulatory risks. Our team is proactive, collaborative, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
What a Senior Legal Assistant does at Visa:
The Senior Legal Assistant (SLA) formally reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Counsel, Asia Pacific (AP). We are seeking a senior paralegal to maintain and support our Asia Pacific legal entities, based in Singapore. This role is pivotal in driving legal operations initiatives by ensuring Legal entities are formed and managed in an efficient manner to facilitate and grow Visa Business.
Responsibilities
- Manage Visa’s corporate structure in AP, and elsewhere as required, including legal entity formation, merger and dissolution processes, and ongoing compliance with local legal requirements.
- Draft and review documents related to entities, including formation documents, capitalizations, dividends, D&O lists, board and shareholder consents, and other compliance documentation
- Manage subsidiary board meetings, including preparation of agendas, board and committee meeting materials, resolutions and minutes.
- Partner with internal groups (e.g., Controllership, Treasury, Regulatory, Risk, M&A and Tax) on various corporate legal matters, implementation of new technology solutions, special projects, and process improvements.
- Maintain corporate electronic and physical records and manage outside counsel on legal entity matters.
- Provide corporate information and general corporate assistance to numerous stakeholders across all levels of the organization to effectively collaborate on key projects.
- Assist where needed in other aspects of the Corporate Legal Team to support overall corporate governance.

Qualifications
What you will need:
We are looking for an experienced individual with a curiosity about payments and Fintech, who is results-driven, and client-focused. As a candidate, you should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience as a corporate paralegal, preferably with a top-tier international law firm or a global in-house legal department at a large public company.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with SharePoint and legal technology platforms is a plus.
- Interest or experience in AI-driven solutions for process improvement is highly desirable.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and multi-tasking, ability to deliver under high pressure/ tight timelines or changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and as part of a team in a dynamic global environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion and tact in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Familiarity with entity database systems (e.g. GEMS) and internal document management tools.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and interest in working on a broad variety of corporate matters.
- An understanding of NYSE and SEC reporting requirements, and compliance processes are an advantage.

- Experience in business planning/operations across diverse markets/functions within a complex matrix organization.
- Prior experience in a similar role within a large law firm or multinational corporation.
