Job Description

The Manager, Strategy & Execution is responsible for driving disciplined execution, governance, and delivery of strategic initiatives across European wallets, account‑to‑account networks, and domestic schemes. This role acts as the backbone for the Head of Wallets and Domestic Scheme’s agenda, ensuring initiatives are well-structured, milestones are tracked, risks are proactively managed, and cross‑functional teams remain aligned.

The role works closely with Product, Legal, Finance, Government Engagement, and cluster and country teams to support consistent execution across markets, balancing regional priorities with local needs. The individual is expected to operate in a highly matrixed environment and bring rigor, transparency, and pace to complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Execution & Program Management

  • Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined workplans, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring accountability and measurable outcomes.
  • Project Manage key initiatives regarding key wallet, A2A, and domestic schemes initiatives, ensure delivery of concrete milestones and track progress across clusters and countries, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and remediation actions.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs to ensure timely and consistent execution across Product, Legal, Finance, VAS, Marketing, and CS teams.

Cross‑Functional & Regional Coordination

  • Act as a central coordination point for cluster and country teams, ensuring alignment to regional strategy and consistency of approach.
  • Drive the redaction of executive materials, steering committee updates, and decision papers for senior leadership forums.
  • Generate tools, templates, and execution frameworks to improve speed and quality of delivery.

Insights, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop clear reporting mechanisms to provide transparency on execution status and outcomes.
  • Identify issues or local requests that require quick executive escalations and report them to the Senior Director Wallets and Domestic Schemes
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve execution models and operating rhythms.
  • Support analysis of regulatory or market developments as input into execution planning and prioritization.

This is a hybrid position, with the expectation being 3 day per week in the London, Paddington office.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in strategy execution, PMO, management consulting, or corporate transformation roles.
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed, cross‑regional organizations.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for senior audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Strategy and Communication

  • Highly structured and analytical, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear execution plans.
  • Strong communicator, able to clearly articulate status, risks, and decisions in a concise and actionable manner.
  • Strong ability to structure complex initiatives, establish clear governance, define measurable outcomes and ensure delivery across multiple workstreams

Analytical Problem Solving

  • Demonstrated capability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear insights, identify execution risks early, and propose pragmatic mitigation actions.
  • Ability to clearly articulate progress, risks, and dependencies in both written and verbal formats, tailoring messages for senior leaders and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Expected to turn complicated financial models into simplified business cases for executive review and approvals
