Tink is building an open banking platform that enables banks, fintechs and startups to develop data-driven financial services. Through one API, Tink allows customers to access aggregated financial data, initiate payments, enrich transactions and build personal finance management tools. The Opportunity:

We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of cutting-edge payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.

The Work itself:

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, value added service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments.

Essential Functions:

• Works under close guidance to implement basic enhancements and modifications to existing software that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
• Learns about automations that improve effectiveness and efficiency of systems and tools.
• Engages with team members to receive feedback on code.
• Follows instructions from manager to implement improvements to code, processes, and designs with and understands customer/business objectives.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to optimize code performance, enhance system automation, and deliver smarter solutions that meet evolving business and user needs.
• We don’t expect you to have years of experience — instead, we’re looking for graduates with the right mindset, curiosity, and foundational skills to grow into outstanding engineers.
• This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Please note, we do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have awesome team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  
  

We would like you to have

• Some experience on a similar position.
• Backend development experience in Java or Go.
• Experience with cloud technologies, terraform tooling and Kubernetes.
• Experience in CI/CD is a big plus.
• Experience with a fast-paced environment that is product centric.
• Experience working with agile methodologies and understand the value of tracking engineering key metrics.

• Distributed systems.

• Observability technologies (eg. Datadog).
• SRE practices.
