Job Description

Senior Integration Consultant is an individual contributor responsible for managing low/moderate to high complexity, client technical integration projects. The role provides project management support to Visa clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, and payment service providers), collaborating closely with Client Success teams and client project teams. The Senior Integration Consultant acts as a trusted client advocate, enabling efficient technical activation and adoption of Visa products to accelerate client ROI. The Senior Integration Consultant focuses their work ‘largely’, but not limited to, acquirers, issuers, processes, merchants and payment service providers with more hands on technical requirements – starting from early solutioning stages to settling the client into Business As Usual.

This individual has strong skills in applying independent judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations and is expected to be consultative in nature with internal and external stakeholders, independently establishing feasible solutions and options.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver integration services for Visa (including Acceptance Solutions) clients in the EU region, ensuring scope, expectations, and timelines are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinate directly with clients to understand requirements, and manage project requirements to successful delivery, acting independently while escalating when needed.
  • Acts as a sales support SME to lead client facing discussions on implementations /integrations conversion methodology and ongoing Visa Solutions support, early on during the pre-sales cycle, supporting solution validation discussions ensuring ‘fit for use’ of Visa products against client business requirements.
  • Manage a wide variety of project initiatives, using Project Management best practices and skills, alongside Visa’s Global Implementation policies.
  • Work with clients to design and implement technical acceptance solutions, harnessing our product capabilities.
  • Deliver product overviews, integration workshops and training sessions across multiple product sets that can be part of a single project scope.
  • Manage diverse project initiatives using project management best practices and Visa’s Global integration policies.
  • Assume full accountability for projects they run to ensure a positive outcome resulting in high NPS, faster time to product activation and completion of projects within planned timeline and budgets.
  • Work proactively with internal and external project teams to manage risks, resolve delays, and maintain project momentum.
  • Maintain updates of the project plans in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Visa technology and product teams to understand new initiatives and impacts on client programs.
  • Handle non-routine processing or change requests related to client initiatives, with support as required.
  • Own daily workflow, proactively resolving issues and meeting deadlines, and ask for guidance as relevant.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and client teams.
  • Prepare and maintain project artifacts (plans, status reports, meeting minutes, issue logs) aligned with Visa and client requirements.
  • Manage internal and external project communications, ensuring consistent updates to stakeholders.
  • Report project progress, accomplishments, and deliverables to management, as required.
  • Support training to internal and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Support occasional after-hours work for configuration changes and post-production validation, or major project go-live.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of Information Technology system knowledge with strong understanding of project management, technology, IT Infrastructure, and applications
  • Strong knowledge of payment and/or risk management systems and strong knowledge of the payment industry
  • Strong engineering or architecture background focused on Web technologies, APIs, and machine-to-machine communication over the Internet
  • Experience in a technology-based industry is preferred.
  • Proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing clients and staff at all levels as well as the ability to successfully manage competing priorities while serving as a positive influence across the organization
  • Proficiency in English: The candidate must have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. This includes the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Proficiency in other European languages is an added advantage
  • Experience using standard MS Office tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Excellent time management, organization, problem solving and planning skills are essential
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply business solutions
  • Evidence of experience in electronic funds transfer as it pertains to merchants, and partners is highly preferred.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to manage team growth and performance effectively.
  • Strong project management skills (Accredited project management certifications is preferable)
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information and apply to business solutions
  • Proficiency providing technical and consultative support to external customers and identifying business needs
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency in the following skills: oCustomer centricity - Listen to and prioritize customer needs to drive value realization and build trusted partnerships whilst being confident in their client relationship to set expectations and also hold clients accountable for their adherence to Visa standards and rules oClient engagement - Communicate clearly and effectively with clients from project initiation to post go-live support oProactiveness - Think ahead and take action to prevent issues/ anticipate risks and establish mitigation actions alongside the clients oCritical thinking - Take ownership over problems and find creative solutions to complex problems encouraging automation and simplicity of process as far as possible Technical desired Payments knowledge or Card processing scheme
  • Good knowledge of rules, regulations and policies that govern the payments ecosystem across Europe and globally
  • Knowledge of how other functions integrate with Implementation, within payment schemes and financial industries including financial fraud tools.
  • Moderate level knowledge of payments systems including client connectivity, authorization, clearing and settlement, message formats and APIs and SDK-based Solutions.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies and APIs, with the ability to support and validate client integrations (e.g. REST APIs, JSON payloads, Postman).
  • Understanding of mobile payments technology, including NFC, secure elements, IOS, HCE contactless payments, online/remote payments, and in app payments
  • Moderate front-end understanding (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and awareness of server-side concepts, enabling effective troubleshooting and consultative support during implementations.
  • Demonstrated, awareness of the full breadth of systems, products and services offered by Visa
