Job Description

The Implementation Senior Manager (Acceptance Solution) is a people manager role, responsible for managing a team of direct reports focused on the implementation of the Visa Acceptance Solutions product portfolio.

The projects could range from low/moderate to high complexity, and as such you are expected to have a good understanding of the work delivered by your team of implementation consultants/analysts in order to assign the right projects to the right skills and also coach/ guide accordingly.

  • Provide leadership and management for a team of individual contributor’s implementation consultants/ senior consultants who are responsible for implementation and integration of a variety of Visa products to all Visa clients and geographies across Europe, sometimes requiring connectivity with other regions outside Europe.
  • Coordinate directly with their team and the sales team to anticipate forecast of projects in order to best manage work allocation across the team, ensuring right skills addressing the right project complexities. Support teams and also work alongside clients to understand their program setup requirements, facilitate new program installations, conversions and maintenance requests without operational impact.
  • Manage a wide variety of project initiatives, using Project Management best practices and skills, alongside Visa’s Global Implementation policies.
  • Advocate best practices to clients on how the deploy Visa products aligned with client technical set up and infrastructure – being an advisor to the client and not simply accepting requirements that could have adverse impacts for the client.
  • Act as a sales support SME to lead client facing overview discussions on implementations, conversion methodology and ongoing Visa Acceptance Solutions support, and in addition as a manager of individual contributors amange expectations from sales teams and clients, as well as plan ahead on requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts with other internal and external project resources to ensure deliverables and commitments are met, and proactively work with client project team members and client success teams to address possible risks, delays and constraints, getting the projects back on track as quickly as possible.
  • Work closely with Visa’s technology and product teams to understand new business initiatives, as well as impact on current and new client programs, and also ‘ideally’ participate on some early adopter projects for new products before launch, including European client representation on use cases.
  • Manage non-routine, complex processing and change requests, related to tactical and strategic client initiatives.
  • Actively maintaining and expanding current knowledge of technologies, products, services, methods and applications and implementing new approaches and practices as required.
  • Build strong relationship with the clusters and clients and act as an escalation point for the team and the respective markets.
  • Build strong partnership with Product, Sales and Client Services internal stakeholders.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness on deliverables to ensure Client Implementation Services operate at the highest level of performance, maximum client satisfaction, as well as protect brand adherence and trust for clients.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning across the team and lead by example by developing and maintaining the latest knowledge of new products and technology within Visa and across the ecosystem.
  • Manage internal and external overall project communications (meeting minutes, dashboards, etc.), providing regular and consistent updates to appropriate parties, as relevant.
  • Report on client project accomplishments and deliverables to management and different stakeholders.
  • Provide training to internal and/or cross-functional teams, as applicable.
  • This position may require off scheduled work including late evenings / weekends in support of client and company configuration changes and associated post-production validation.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of 3 days in office.

Qualifications

  • Information Technology system knowledge with strong understanding of project management, technology, IT Infrastructure, and applications
  • Strong knowledge of payment and/or risk management systems and strong knowledge of the payment industry
  • Strong engineering or architecture background focused on Web technologies, APIs, and machine-to-machine communication over the Internet
  • Experience in a technology-based industry is preferred.
  • Proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing clients and staff at all levels as well as the ability to successfully manage competing priorities while serving as a positive influence across the organization
  • Proficiency in English: Must have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. This includes the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Proficiency in other European languages is an added advantage
  • Experience using standard MS Office tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Excellent time management, organization, problem solving and planning skills are essential
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply business solutions
  • Evidence of experience in electronic funds transfer as it pertains to merchants, and partners is highly preferred.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to manage team growth and performance effectively.
  • Strong project management skills (Accredited project management certifications is preferable)
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information and apply to business solutions
  • Proficiency providing technical and consultative support to external customers and identifying business need

Technical desired Payments knowledge or Card processing scheme

  • Good knowledge of rules, regulations and policies that govern the payments ecosystem across Europe and globally
  • Knowledge of how other functions integrate with Implementation, within payment schemes and financial industries
  • Entry level knowledge of payments systems including client connectivity, authorization, clearing and settlement, message formats and APIs
  • Demonstrated, awareness of the full breadth of systems, products and services offered by Visa
