Job Description
As a UK & Ireland Direct Account Manager for CyberSource, you will be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of merchant accounts. The role combines commercial ownership, client relationship management, and internal coordination to deliver sustainable revenue growth and high client satisfaction.
Your performance objectives will be set across two dimensions. Revenue targets will reflect the existing revenue base and identified growth and upsell opportunities within your portfolio. Non-financial objectives will focus on client satisfaction, effective use of automation and AI-enabled capabilities, and improvements in operational efficiency.
Day-to-day responsibilities include regular engagement with clients, acting as the primary commercial point of contact, and representing client requirements internally. You will lead all commercial discussions for your accounts, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across pricing, contract discussions, and growth initiatives.
For larger, strategically important accounts, you will be supported by a dedicated Technical Account Manager (TAM). The TAM will assist with technical queries, including new service implementations, incident management, and response code interpretation. This exposure will help you build a strong working understanding of common technical topics, enabling you to support smaller accounts that do not have dedicated technical coverage.
As the commercial owner of your portfolio, you will develop a detailed understanding of both overall client performance and specific operational challenges. This insight will inform tailored account plans designed to deliver revenue growth, identify upsell opportunities, and improve client outcomes across FY26 and beyond.
You will receive structured onboarding across CyberSource products and services, internal CRM tools, and performance reporting. This will enable you to identify optimisation opportunities and track commercial performance effectively. You will work within an experienced team of Account Management professionals with deep knowledge of Visa and CyberSource solutions.
The role requires use of Visa’s IDEA sales methodology to identify and qualify opportunities. By engaging clients in structured, thoughtful discussions, you will define clear problem statements and articulate well-supported business value cases aligned to client needs.
You will be accountable for all commercial aspects of your portfolio, including understanding current revenue performance, identifying gaps against targets, and developing account plans to close such. Full access and training will be provided on the tools required to manage performance, forecasting, and deal execution.
Strong commercial judgement is essential. Payment gateway services operate in a highly competitive market, and you will be expected to structure agreements that balance client expectations with CyberSource’s long-term growth and revenue objectives.
Effective stakeholder engagement is a core aspect of the role. You will proactively build relationships with senior client stakeholders, develop a clear understanding of client strategy and governance, and ensure CyberSource is well-positioned within the client’s decision-making framework.
You are expected to meet or exceed revenue, bookings, and growth targets through consistent delivery against agreed objectives.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status. Visa will also consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with EEOC guidelines and applicable local law.
