What’s it all about?
As the Marketing Services Strategy Director, you will be the subject-matter expert on growth marketing strategy and campaign delivery, leading a portfolio of client engagements. Your focus is to expand and strengthen Visas Marketing Services advisory and execution offering across Europe, with a primary emphasis on the UK&I cluster.
Business context: Visa continues to grow the number of payment credentials issued across Europe, spanning physical cards, digital cards and tokens. Our objective is to support acquisition and, critically, drive active usageso that Visa credentials are the preferred choice for everyday payment transactions. This is a company priority, and Marketing partners closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), Product and Sales to help clients (banks, fintechs and merchants) influence consumer behaviour and preference for Visa payments.
Responsibilities: This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery of co-marketing and lifecycle growth programmes. Success will be measured through improved portfolio performance metrics for client programmes and through direct revenue generation via client adoption of Visa Marketing Services.
You will join the regional Marketing Services Hub team, reporting to the Head of Martech Capabilities & Strategy, Europe. You will work closely with local Visa teams and, where required, directly with client marketing leadership teamsacting as an extension of their organisation.

What We Expect Of You, Day To Day
- Partner with regional/local VCA teams and client marketers to identify growth opportunities and shape client plans; collaborate with Sales, Product, Insights & Analytics and Data Science to drive the best business outcomes efficiently.
- Build relationships with senior issuer and merchant stakeholders (as needed), develop and pitch Marketing Services engagements, and lead strategy and campaign implementation with local Visa teams and/or directly with clients.
- Assess client marketing capabilities, provide pragmatic consultancy, and support hands-on execution on selected projects.
- Design client-specific lifecycle strategies across acquisition, activation, usage, retention and portfolio optimisation. Develop roadmaps with integrated touchpoints and automation across paid and owned channels (e.g., CRM email, mobile push/in-app, paid search, SEO, social, affiliates, content and partnerships).
- Own a robust measurement approach: define KPIs, analyse programme performance, and partner with clients, Visa Insights & Analytics and VCA to quantify revenue impact, capture learnings and codify best practices.
- Facilitate working sessions with internal and external stakeholders to improve planning quality, execution speed and campaign results.
- Deliver revenue and margin outcomes for the Marketing Services function, owning an annual sales/engagement target for your portfolio.
- Share expertise with senior internal stakeholders (VP+), help industrialise repeatable service offerings to improve sales and delivery efficiency, and promote best practices across local, regional and global teams.
- Develop and commercialise a migration/conversion marketing service line to support European markets.
- Partner closely with the Marketing BD lead on RFPs, proposals and wider business development opportunities.
- Lead quarterly capacity planning based on market and client demand, ensuring delivery quality across concurrent engagements.
Qualifications
What we're after:
- Proven experience building and executing end-to-end growth marketing strategies, including product-led growth, lead management and funnel optimisation.
- Hands-on experience designing growth infrastructure (e.g., growth marketing and/or loyalty platforms) and using analytics tools to evaluate performance and demonstrate measurable impact.
- Impact-oriented and data-informed, with a track record of developing strategies and leading multi-channel campaigns that outperform targets across acquisition, cross-sell/premiumisation, member-get-member/engagement and brand.
- Experience defining and deploying full-funnel consumer marketing strategies is an advantage.
- Experience in payments portfolio management (e.g., portfolio performance, marketing, proposition development) is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, including pitching and influencing at senior executive level.
- Ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment and use direct and indirect influence to unlock cross-functional expertise.
- Comfortable delivering measurable outcomes in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Fluent English required; an additional major European language is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work onsite with clients when needed.
