Job Description

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Director – Debit & Prepaid, AUNZPI based in Sydney or Melbourne. The Senior Manager is responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of Visa’s Debit and Prepaid products across Australia and New Zealand during a 12-month fixed term.

The role focuses on execution, continuity, and stakeholder management, supporting existing product strategies, portfolio priorities, client engagements and supporting the setting of the end-to-end strategic direction. The Senior Manager works closely with internal teams and clients to ensure momentum is maintained and risks are proactively managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of Debit and Prepaid product priorities across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Manage day-to-day product activities, including responding to issuer, client engagement, and internal stakeholder queries.
  • Contribute to portfolio optimisation and benchmarking activities, synthesising insights and identifying opportunities to support client and market performance.
  • Support growth initiatives across mass-market and targeted segments, in line with agreed product strategies and priorities.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Client Engagement teams to support issuer delivery, pipeline progression, and in-flight initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and selected clients; represent Debit & Prepaid in relevant forums, working groups, and client discussions.
  • Provide insights and reporting on portfolio performance, highlighting emerging risks, impacts, and dependencies.
  • Apply analytical capability to support data-driven decision making, including contribution to planning activities, rule interpretation, and interchange considerations.
  • Support product changes and go-to-market delivery, including coordination of rule changes, waivers, and approvals impacting issuing and merchant acceptance.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to ensure alignment with broader product strategies and governance requirements.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

5+ years’ experience in payments, cards, transaction banking, or product / portfolio management roles.

Understanding of Debit and/or Prepaid products, issuer portfolios, and scheme economics.

Strong grasp of the Australian and New Zealand payments regulatory environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.

Analytical capability to interpret data, identify trends, and support actionable insights.

Proactive, organised, and delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-bound role.
