Job Description

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services primarily in Java / Groovy, deployed on AWS, supporting financial accounting and post-transaction processing.
• Build and evolve systems responsible for ledger entries, balances, reconciliation, adjustments, and financial events.
• Lead technical decisions within the squad, balancing data correctness, scalability, performance, observability, and technical debt.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and Accounting stakeholders to translate accounting requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Execute and maintain Terraform configurations to provision and manage AWS infrastructure.
• Ensure strong monitoring, logging, and metrics to guarantee financial data reliability and traceability.
• Participate actively in technical analysis, solution design, and impact assessment of accounting flows.
• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and constructive feedback.
• Contribute to architectural discussions at squad and collective levels, influencing standards and best practices.
• Deliver high-quality, well-tested solutions that meet strict correctness and auditability requirements.
  
  

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties to be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications: 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
