Job Description
The Director, Global Markets Operations – Chief of Staff is a key member of the Global Markets Operations team. They will focus on both strategic and execution-oriented topics and serve as Chief of Staff to Visa’s Group President.
Strategic topics may include: Global coordination on key risks facing multiple regions (e.g., A2A, RTP, Wallets, Regulatory activity, Localization), consideration of new business and operating models, identification of key trends impacting our business and thought leadership re: these local payment experiences, Sales Transformation initiatives, optimizing and streamlining corporate processes, representing the President and/or voice of the Regions across Visa-wide initiatives, etc.
Execution-oriented topics may include: BoD presentations, EC reporting on key business updates across the Global Markets team, OKR tracking, crafting presentations for the President on key business topics and global payments trends for both external and internal audiences, Quarterly Business Reviews facilitation, Budget facilitation, crafting agendas and content for the President’s market visits around the world, planning for key events like Visa’s Annual Market Kick-Off, etc.
Across all topics, the role will require highly effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement across a wide array of functions – incl. collaborating with senior leaders (key stakeholders include but are not limited to: Regional Presidents, the Global Markets Leadership Team, Regional and Functional BPOs, Group Country Managers and Country Managers, Regional Leadership teams, Global Sales and Commercial Operations, the Office of the CEO, Finance, Legal, Corporate Strategy, Global and Regional Product teams, and more).

The estimated salary range for this position is $192,300.00 to $ 307,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
Work Hours
Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

Responsibilities Include
- Serving as ‘Chief of Staff’ to Group President, including owning and prioritizing the running list or backlog of topics relevant for the President and the Global Markets team
- Supporting the management of the Group President and the Global Markets Leadership Team’s operating models (market visits, global corporate calendar, process optimization etc.)
- Executing against the top priorities for the President and the Global Markets team
- Preparation of materials for key external and internal forums – including slide deck creation and scripting for the Group President and contributing to the knowledge of key market themes/trends
- Engaging with and establishing relationships with stakeholders across most teams at Visa across a range of priority topics, including close partnership with Regional BPO teams, Global Markets Leadership Team BPO teams, and CEO Office
- Assisting in the development of perspectives on a range of priority strategic initiatives as indicated by Group President
- Crafting the agenda and working with stakeholders on content for the President’s key internal forums: The Global Markets Leadership team (meetings, Onsites), the Market Leadership Council, etc.
- Collecting data on financial and other business performance and synthesizing outcomes
- Preparing Group President for client and government meetings/conferences (e.g., Davos)
- Preparation of materials for BoD meetings on key business updates
- Serve as people leader – this role has direct report(s)
- Peer mentorship across the Global Markets Operations team, helping build out the team over time, continuing to refine the remit of the function, and acting as a key leader within the Ops team and as a representative of the President’s Office
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Deep knowledge of Visa’s business, strategy, and operating model; prior experience in strategy and/or business operations roles preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Co-pilot and other AI applications
- Highly structured and organized. Able to dynamically prioritize across several topics
- Highly proactive with ownership mentality and demonstrated success leading projects end-to-end
- Highly collaborative with colleagues. Comfort and poise when interfacing with senior executives and proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence at all levels
- Excellent team management / coaching skills (this is a people leadership role with direct report(s)
- Great problem-solver and thought partner to senior executives (ability to absorb a lot of information and summarize/synthesize key takeaways, able to quickly put down perspective and iterate, etc.)
- Curious and fast-learner with a positive can do attitude
- Comfort with ambiguity / able to dynamically adjust to changing environment
- Action-oriented and execution-obsessed (able to translate high levels ideas into practical next steps and execution plans)
- Strong writer and basic ‘consulting’ toolkit (e.g., PPT, XLS, quick back of the envelope math)
