Job Description

Join our Payments Ecosystem Risk and Controls (PERC) team as the Manager, Program Management. We're a Global Risk function dedicated to safeguarding the security and integrity of the payment ecosystem. This role is pivotal in shaping design and deployment of risk programs and services, adapting them as the payment and threat landscapes evolve. The position requires a collaborative leader with presence who can work with internal and external stakeholders to support development of these programs, ensuring they align with Visa's business strategy and its growth.

Role Summary

The Manager, Program Management is responsible for supporting the design, execution, and operationalization of Visa’s ecosystem acquirer and merchant risk initiatives. This role partners closely with Analytics, Technology, Pricing, and regional risk teams to ensure programs are delivered on time, scale effectively, and protect the integrity of the Visa payment ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of Payments Ecosystem Risk strategy aligned to Visa priorities and secure growth objectives.
  • Translate strategic objectives into program roadmaps, milestones, and OKRs, tracking progress and dependencies across workstreams.
  • Manage cross‑functional project plans, schedules, risks, and issue resolution across Risk, Technology, Analytics, Legal, and Commercial teams.
  • Support program governance routines, including intake, prioritization, decision tracking, and change management.
  • Act as a key point of coordination between regional risk teams, global program owners, and internal partners.
  • Support documentation and maintenance of program rules, procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Coordinate internal and external readiness activities, including communications, training, and collateral development.

This is a hybrid position within our Foster City, CA office location. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional, complex initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of risk control concepts, project management, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear executive‑ready materials.
  • Strong organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with payments, acquiring, fraud, compliance, or ecosystem risk programs.
  • Experience partnering with Analytics, Technology, or Legal teams.
  • Comfort operating in fast‑paced and ambiguous environments.

The estimated salary range for this position is $129,200.00 to $ 206,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
