Job Description
The Senior Director, Card Product Delivery & Optimization is a global leadership role responsible for ensuring core products across Credit, Debit, and Prepaid are delivered, optimized, and scaled effectively across the Visa ecosystem. This role owns core product rules & policies, VisaNet platform enablement, and product operational excellence, while serving as a critical bridge between product strategy, technology, sales enablement, and client delivery.
Leading a small, highly specialized team of subject matter experts (SMEs), this role drives modernization of product rules, certification & registration processes, and value added programs to support new use cases, client flexibility, and evolving IRF structures. The role also plays a central part in sales plays, RFP & deal support, and the development of best practice insights for both internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Global Card Products, the role-holder will be responsible for initiatives across three broad areas of responsibility:
Product Rules, Policies & Platform Enablement
As well as working with regional, client-facing teams, you will work closely with colleagues from different Product groups, along with Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Risk Legal and Compliance.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
13 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
13 - 15+ years of experience and at least 8 – 10 years of experience in the payments industry, preferably in payments, product management, or platform‑based financial services, with deep exposure to Credit, Debit, and/or Prepaid.
Proven experience owning product rules, policies, and operational frameworks at scale.
Strong understanding of network economics, pricing constructs, and IRF implications.
Demonstrated success working across highly matrixed, global organizations.
Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Experience leading specialized teams and driving complex, cross‑functional initiatives from concept to execution.
Experience in financial services, fintechs, retail and ecommerce will be an advantage
Strategic thought leadership coupled with execution bias to drive initiatives and meet key result areas
Sound business acumen, analytical skills and keen understanding of new technology payments’ business models & profitability drivers
Understanding of Visa business and organization strongly preferred
Excellent direct & indirect team building & leadership skills; managing local & remote team members as well as “dotted line” / extended team members in global regions
Master’s degree in business, engineering or a related field

The estimated salary range for this position is $229,000 to $400,900 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. - Own and govern Core Product rules & policies across Credit, Debit, and Prepaid, ensuring clarity, consistency, and scalability.
- Partner closely with Technology & Platform teams to align VisaNet infrastructure capabilities with product and market needs.
- Modernize product constructs to support new use cases, client flexibility, and evolving pricing & IRF models.
- Oversee end‑to‑end product operational processes, including:
- Prepaid Product Implementation Forms (PIFs)
- Debit Scorecards
- Cross-Border Issuance & Special-Purpose Issuance program registration
- Emerging program registrations (e.g., Crypto‑related initiatives)
- Drive simplification, standardization, & automation of certification and registration workflows to improve speed‑to‑market and reduce friction for clients and regions.
- Lead development of sales plays, RFP responses, and deal support materials related to Core Products.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Regional Product, & Marketing teams to ensure product capabilities are clearly articulated and competitively positioned.
- Provide expert guidance on complex or bespoke client deals involving Core Product rules, pricing constructs, or operational considerations.
- Develop and publish high‑quality materials, including:
- Internal sales plays and RFP toolkits
- External client‑facing best practices and insights
- Act as a global center of expertise for Core Products & key segments, translating market learnings into actionable guidance.
