Team Summary
Visa’s Tech Partnerships Team is a client facing organization that sets Visa’s public digital narrative. This team develops commercial partnerships and investments with industry leading digital brands and platform providers and manages the ongoing engagement with large and small FinTech players across the region. Tech Partnerships is responsible for growing business development capabilities across Greater China, ensuring that teams have the sales narrative, tools, packaged programs and deal support required to ensure Visa are the partner of choice for all Greater China FinTech’s.
What a Sr. Director, Solution Architecture, Tech Partnerships does at Visa:
The Senior Director, Solution Architecture for Greater China Tech Partnerships is a pivotal leadership role that bridges Visa’s product capabilities with local digital partner collaboration specific use case needs. While Visa’s local and global product teams focus on individual product components within product portfolios, this role and its dedicated team are uniquely positioned to deliver end-to-end, client-centric solutions architecture that integrate Visa’s core product components with client-specific applications, real-world use cases and agentic commerce use cases. For instance, in building an Agentic Commerce end-to-end customer experience workflow, the team will design a holistic architecture that embeds Visa’s key payment components while fully aligning with client’s business logic and user journey requirements. This end-to-end technical solution capability is irreplaceable for converting BD opportunities into scalable, successful partnerships, as it addresses complex client demands holistically instead of providing isolated product features. By acting as the technical anchor for strategic tech collaborations, this role strengthens Visa’s technical reputation among top regional digital partners, drives targeted adoption of Visa’s product suite, and directly underpins the achievement of Visa’s 2030 growth and diversification goals in Mainland China.

Tech Partnerships is responsible for growing business development capabilities across Greater China, ensuring that teams have the sales narrative, tools, packaged programs and deal support required to ensure Visa are the partner of choice for all Greater China FinTech’s.
What a Sr. Director, Solution Architecture, Tech Partnerships does at Visa:
- Serve as the core technical partner to the Tech Partnership team, collaborating with BD/Sales counterparts to pursue strategic partnerships with top Chinese digital ecosystem partners and leading foundation model providers.
- Lead, build and manage a high-performing Solution Architecture team for Greater China Tech Partnerships, overseeing team development, territory mapping and technical delivery, with a focus on cultivating end-to-end solution design capabilities.
- Possess in-depth expertise in AI ecosystems and Agentic AI application development, translating cutting-edge technologies into tailored, compliant payment and commerce solutions aligned with Visa’s product portfolio.
- Engage and influence technical decision-makers at key clients and leverage exceptional presentation & whiteboarding capabilities to represent Visa in industry forums, deliver technical solution speeches, and collaborate with client product and engineering teams to whiteboard end-to-end solution architectures.
- Lead the team in co-creating end-to-end solution prototype with client technical teams, leveraging Visa’s product components and integrating client applications/use cases to rapidly develop prototypes, validate business collaboration ideas and drive solution implementation.
- Collaborate closely with local and global products, engineering, value add service team to align on solution roadmap, coordinate resources and ensure compliance with global technical standards.
- Provide technical due diligence and architecture oversight for partnership projects, identify and mitigate technical risks, and support deal negotiations by clarifying technical deliverables, implementation cycles and resource requirements.
- Continuously monitor regional technical trends (AI, payment, digital commerce) and propose innovative solution frameworks to enhance Visa’s technical competitiveness in partner collaborations.
- Execute regional technical partnership strategies in alignment with the Tech Partnerships VP, contributing to the refinement of partnership execution roadmaps and delivery of Visa’s 2030 growth objectives.

Qualifications
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related technical field.
- 15+ years of professional experience, 10+ years in solution architecture, with a minimum of 6+ years of team leadership experience managing Solution Architecture teams; proven experience leading technical teams and experience in cloud service providers is a plus.
- Deep, hands-on technical knowledge of AI, Agentic AI application development and cloud architecture; expertise in commercializing cutting-edge AI technologies.
- Proven track record of supporting sales/BD teams to engage and influence technical decision-makers at large-scale internet companies, with sharp stakeholder influence and cross-functional communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills: ability to deliver professional technical speeches on behalf of Visa at industry forums, and to collaborate with client product managers and engineers to whiteboard end-to-end solution architectures efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver end-to-end solutions architectures integrating product components with client applications and rapidly developing prototypes to validate the idea.
- Cross-functional collaboration experience with local and global products, engineering teams, with strong coordination and project execution capabilities; prior experience working in product teams is a plus.
- Understanding of payment industry technologies, compliance requirements and digital commerce technical workflows is a plus.
- Strong team leadership, talent development and performance management capabilities, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing technical solution teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin, capable of seamless communication with global and local technical and business stakeholders.
