Job Description
The International Affairs (IA) vertical of Global Government Affairs (GA) leads Visa’s engagement with the United States and foreign governments, international financial institutions and multilateral bodies and development organizations to advance Visa business and policy priorities in global markets. IA works with trade associations, think tanks, consultants and law firms to amplify top priorities including as relates to international trade, market access, payments modernization and standard-setting.
As Manager, International Trade Policy, you will lead efforts to advance trade policy in support of Visa’s global business, engage with U.S. and foreign governments and stakeholders, and support regional GA colleagues. The Manager also will help develop and execute strategies, position papers, internal messaging, briefing materials, and other content to shape policy outcomes on international trade policy issues, including those pertaining to electronic payments, cross-border data flows and digital trade. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of productive collaboration with diverse colleagues in a highly‑matrixed and fast-paced work environment and experience in international trade, electronic payments, financial services, digital trade and/or technology policy issues.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational capability and outstanding writing and verbal skills, comfortable covering multiple assignments at once, and capable of quickly and efficiently producing high-quality results. Good judgment and attention to detail will be critical in this role, as the Manager will be frequently called upon to meet time-sensitive needs for important internal and external partners.
The position reports to the Senior Director of International Trade, International Affairs, Global Government Affairs.

Basic Qualifications:
The estimated salary range for this position is $131,600.00 to $ 210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
Work Hours
Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

- Represent Visa before the U.S. government and foreign governments, as well as trade associations and multistakeholder forums.
- Monitor international trade policy developments in the United States and globally and analyze their impacts to Visa and our partners.
- Support execution of strategies, position papers, and other content to shape policy outcomes on international trade policy, including those pertaining to electronic payments, data flows and digital trade.
- Support and track policy issues and the IA team’s engagements with consultants, legal counsel, trade associations, think tanks, and other key partners.
- Build deep partnerships with regional GA colleagues by proactively identifying opportunities for collaboration and delivering effective solutions.
- Support executive engagements by developing briefing materials, presentations, talking points, and other materials as needed.
- Experience in international trade, electronic payments, financial services and/or digital trade policy issues is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a multinational corporation and/or in government on international trade/economic policy.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
- Ability to work-cross functionally with a broad range of internal and external partners.
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently, efficiently generating high-quality deliverables.
- Good judgment, ability to act with discretion and handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and facilitate healthy communication.
- Proven track record of managing complex issues and delivering consistently excellent work products on deadline.
- Superior communication skills, including the ability to translate business priorities into specific public policy recommendations.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working on a broad range of international trade, electronic payments, financial services, data, and digital trade policy topics.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones, countries, and cultures.
- Excellent inter-personal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences.
