Job Description

Our Legal team manages Visa's legal affairs across Central Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region, providing strategic advice and services to support business objectives while safeguarding Visa's brand and minimizing legal and regulatory risks.

Our team is proactive, collaborative, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

We are seeking a Corporate Secretariat to join our CEMEA Legal team in one of Visa sub-regional offices, Belgrade, Kiev or Almaty.

The Corporate Secretariat formally reports to the Senior Vice President - Chief Counsel CEMEA with doted line reporting to other Legal team leads supporting Legal Entities Management in the region.

This role is pivotal in driving Visa entities’ management operations and initiatives across the region and ensuring that our legal entities are formed and managed efficiently to support growth, innovation and operational excellent for Visa's business.

  • Manage Visa's corporate structure in the CEMEA region, and elsewhere as required, including legal entity formation, corporate reorganization processes and ongoing compliance with local legal requirements and Visa policies
  • Draft and review documents related to entities, including formation documents, capitalizations, dividends, D&O lists, board and shareholder consent, and other compliance documentation
  • Manage regional subsidiaries board and committee meetings, including preparation of agendas, board and committee meeting materials, resolutions, and minutes, ensuring governance standards are met
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Controllership, Treasury, Legal, Risk, Tax) on various corporate legal matters, implementation of new technology solutions, special projects, and process improvements
  • Maintain accurate corporate records (electronic and physical) and manage outside counsel on legal entity-related matters
  • Provide corporate information and general corporate assistance to numerous stakeholders across all levels of the organization to effectively collaborate on key projects
  • Assist in other aspects of the CEMEA Legal and Corporate Legal Team when needed to strengthen overall corporate and regulatory governance

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced individual with a curiosity about payments and financial technology, who is results-driven, and client-focused.

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience as a corporate paralegal, preferably with a top-tier international law firm or a global in-house legal department at a large public company.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with SharePoint and legal technology platforms is a plus.
  • Interest or experience in Al-driven solutions for process improvement is highly desirable.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and multi-tasking, ability to deliver under high pressure/ tight timelines or changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and as part of a team in a dynamic global environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; Russian would be advantageous (but not essential).
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with entity database systems (e.g., GEMS) and internal document management tools.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and interest in working on a broad variety of corporate matters.
  • An understanding of NYSE and SEC reporting requirements, and compliance processes are an advantage.
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Role to be located in one of Visa’s regional office in Belgrade, Serbia/Kiev, Ukraine/Almaty Kazakhstan
  • Experience in entity management across diverse markets/functions within a complex matrix organization.
