Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), the consulting arm of Visa, is a global team of industry experts in strategy, marketing, operations, risk, and economics consulting.

The Data Solutions and Engineering team under VCA is a multidisciplinary group responsible for designing scalable data solutions, developing advanced machine learning use cases, and enabling AI-driven innovation across Latin America and the Caribbean.

We are currently undergoing a transformation toward an AI-native delivery model, leveraging Generative AI and agent-based workflows to reduce operational effort, accelerate delivery, and scale impact across markets.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manager who can lead, design, and implement high-impact analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI solutions, with a strong focus on real-world application of GenAI tools and agentic workflows.

The ideal candidate is not only technically strong, but also hands-on and execution-driven, with proven evidence of using Generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, GPT, Perplexity, Copilots) in their day-to-day work to: build and optimize machine learning models, automate workflows and processes, accelerate analytical development and generate insights and dashboards more efficiently.

This role requires someone who can translate new AI capabilities into practical business impact from day one.

Responsibilities

• Drive (hands-on) the end-to-end lifecycle of analytical, machine learning, and Generative AI solutions—from problem definition to deployment and monitoring.
• Build and deploy ML models and AI-driven solutions that solve real business problems and generate measurable impact.
• Actively leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and improve solution quality and speed.
• Design and implement agent-based workflows to automate processes such as data preparation, model development, reporting, and insight generation.
• Develop and implement LLM-based solutions, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and AI agents for decision support.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes using GenAI and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable architectures that integrate ML, GenAI, and data pipelines.
• Build reusable frameworks, templates, and assets to scale AI adoption across the team.
• Translate complex analytical outputs into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor team members, driving adoption of AI-first ways of working.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to define use cases, shape solutions, and deliver high-value outcomes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 4+ years with an Advanced Degree (Master or PhD).
• Post-graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, or Engineering (Master or PhD).
• Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on expertise in applying and deploying Machine Learning solutions to solve business problems, with proven experience in the complete model lifecycle (development, validation, and production deployment).
• Advanced proficiency in Python and data science ecosystems (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, NumPy, PySpark).
• Experience working with large and complex datasets in distributed environments (e.g., Hadoop, PySpark, SQL).
• Proven, hands-on use of Generative AI tools in day-to-day work, with clear examples (e.g., automation, model building, dashboards, workflows).
• Experience applying GenAI to: automate processes, increase productivity, accelerate solution delivery, augment decision-making, ...
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to connect data solutions to business impact.
• Experience communicating complex topics to senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and AI agent development.
• Experience implementing agentic workflows or automation frameworks.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Understanding of payments and banking industry.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and cloud platforms.
• Portuguese language skills are a plus.
