Job Description

The Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations will lead the development of forward-looking marketing strategies and growth narratives in support of our 2030 milestones.

Based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this leader will drive revenue enablement and profitability for Visa and their partners, and establish vital operational rigor across our regional clusters. This role is a critical business partner and growth catalyst embedded directly within the Marketing Services business unit.

Working horizontally across Business Development, Visa Consulting and Analytics, Product, and regional/global teams, the Director will scale the proprietary frameworks, tools, and processes that empower Visa to capture emerging affluent wealth segments, drive local commerce trends, and commercialize next-generation marketing innovations (including AI-driven and Generative Engine Optimization models).

The position reports directly to the Senior Director for Marketing Services GCC

The Strategy, Planning, and Operations team serves as the ultimate connective tissue for the department, partnering with marketing leadership to:

  • Design and manage a cohesive operating plan that protects fiscal integrity and supports strategic objectives for Visa and their partners.

  • Address complex regulatory, compliance, and controllership procedures across the GCC, with a primary focus on the rapidly expanding Saudi market.

Essential Functions

  • Drive Regional Growth Strategy: Formulate and refine localized marketing strategies that leverage Visa’s historic strength in consumer and B2B payments to position the brand as the undisputed leader in digital money movement across KSA and the wider GCC.
  • Growth Strategy & Margin Protection: Partner with regional cluster leads to construct a rigorous view of market opportunities. Oversee the business unit's operational P&L performance, ensuring marketing initiatives directly drive return on investment.
  • Saudi Market Enablement: Serve as the strategic anchor in Riyadh, navigating the unique cultural, commercial, and regulatory landscape of Saudi Arabia to accelerate relationship building with key local partners and family business ecosystems.
  • Client & Sales Narrative Development: Collaborate with Business Development, Visa Consulting and Analytics, and Product teams to build sophisticated, executive-ready commercial narratives for affluent and emerging affluent segments, specifically tailored for key regional banking clients.
  • Performance Architecture (OKRs/KPIs): Establish, track, and manage complex OKRs and commercial KPIs related to the 2030 Strategy, proactively driving corrective operational actions when variance occurs.
  • Advance Marketing AI Innovation: Drive digital maturity by prioritizing AI use cases within the organization—defining guardrails, tracking success metrics, and commercializing advanced marketing frameworks.
  • Fiduciary Governance & Compliance: Build and own solid foundations for controllership, risk mitigation, and compliance practices across marketing workstreams, moving the team from task execution to high-performing business unit management.
  • Executive Communication: Structure and deliver concise, decision-ready updates, readouts, and recommendations for the GCC leadership team, highlighting impacts, risks, and clear strategic asks.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
