Job Description

At Featurespace, we build software that protects our clients and their customers from fraud and financial crime. A critical part of our success is not just what we build, but how quickly, reliably and securely we can deploy it into real customer environments.

As Staff Engineer in the Rapid Deployment team, you will play a key role in enabling fast, repeatable and low‑risk deployment of ARIC across a wide range of environments. You will work under the technical direction of the Senior Staff Engineer, owning significant components of the Rapid Deployment platform.

The Rapid Deployment Team Builds And Owns The Tooling, Automation And Technical Standards That Dramatically Reduce Deployment Time And Operational Risk, Allowing Customers To Adopt And Upgrade ARIC With Confidence Across

  • Public cloud environments (AWS initially, with a clear multi‑cloud roadmap)
  • Customer‑managed datacentres
  • Hybrid and security‑constrained environments

This role is hands‑on, with responsibility for delivering robust implementation and contributing to the technical direction of the platform. You will work on complex problems around packaging, configuration, upgrades and operability, ensuring solutions work reliably across real customer environments.

How You’ll Work

  • You will work closely with the Senior Staff Engineer to implement technical direction and architectural decisions.
  • You will collaborate with Core Engineering teams to ensure ARIC artefacts are deployable and supportable.
  • You will partner with SRE, Security and customer‑facing teams to ensure deployments are reliable and meet operational requirements.
  • You will remain hands‑on, contributing through code, design and technical problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

  • Design and build deployment, installer and configuration tooling.
  • Own and deliver key components of the Rapid Deployment platform.
  • Implement deployment workflows that are secure, repeatable and supportable.
  • Ensure solutions function reliably across cloud, on‑prem and hybrid environments.

Hands‑On Engineering

  • Write high‑quality, production‑ready code and automation.
  • Debug deployment and runtime issues across Linux‑based systems.
  • Improve diagnostics and operational visibility in deployment workflows.

Engineering Quality

  • Apply best practices for deployment, security and operability.
  • Contribute to design reviews with a focus on maintainability and resilience.
  • Reduce operational friction for customers and internal teams.

Collaboration & Contribution

  • Work with engineering teams to improve deployability of ARIC artefacts.
  • Support Security and Compliance requirements in deployment solutions.
  • Share knowledge across the team and support more junior engineers.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands‑on engineering experience.
  • Solid Linux systems background.
  • Experience building deployment, automation or platform tooling.
  • Good understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Programming capability in a high‑level language (e.g. Python).
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code or automation tooling.
  • Ability to reason about systems and contribute to technical decisions.
  • Experience with on‑prem or hybrid environments.
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls).
  • Experience with third‑party datastores such as ELK / OpenSearch, MongoDB, PostgreSQL or ClickHouse.
  • Experience with regulated or security‑constrained environments.
