Job Description

The Senior Analyst - Interchange Fee will support the development and execution of Visa’s CEMEA Interchange Reimbursement Fee (IRF) frameworks across priority markets.

The role focuses on designing market‑ and product‑specific IRF models, evaluating interchange economics, and assessing how new structures drive product penetration, acceptance expansion, and strategic growth.

The position requires strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with a solid understanding of interchange economics and IRF frameworks. The analyst will assess complex, transaction‑level data across products and markets, evaluate issuer and acquirer impacts, and translate IRF outcomes into clear, actionable insights for senior management. In addition, the role is expected to bring new perspectives to the Interchange function, leveraging data automation, GenAI use cases, and process improvements to enhance existing analytical frameworks, tracking tools, and ongoing IRF initiatives.

The role reports to the Senior Director – Interchange, CEMEA and is based in Visa’s Dubai office.

Interchange Analysis & Modeling

  • Own interchange analysis and recommendations for specific markets/segments
  • Design and evaluate IRF changes balancing issuer & acquirer economics, and network growth
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate proposed interchange rate changes, VPP Programs, and Global Strategic IRF Initiatives
  • Analyze transaction data, payment flows, and portfolio dynamics to identify IRF Impact
  • Support the development of business cases for new IRF programs

Advanced Analytics, Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare executive summaries, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership on interchange performance and strategic initiatives
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor the effectiveness of interchange programs and their impact on network economics
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews of interchange changes to measure outcomes against forecasts
  • Build robust financial models to assess IRF impact on volume, revenue, and client economics

End-to-End Project Leadership

  • Support Regional Strategic Workshops and contribute to Visa’s 2030 strategic initiatives, including long-tail acceptance, affluent, commercial, and money movement priorities
  • Lead interchange change initiatives from ideation to implementation
  • Manage governance, approvals, and cross-functional coordination
  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and timelines

Regulatory & Market Advisory

  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on interchange
  • Recommend mitigation strategies and ensure compliance
  • Provide strategic input on market-specific IRF challenges

AI Enablement & Process Improvement (Differentiator)

  • Drive the practical adoption of AI and automation across interchange workflows, including development of use cases (e.g., IRF simulations, anomaly detection, and benchmarking), and embedding these into day-to-day analytics and decision-making
  • Identify and implement use cases for AI/ML (e.g., IRF simulations, anomaly detection, benchmarking automation)
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, standardization, and scalability of IRF workflows
  • Build reusable tools/templates (dashboards, models, trackers) to reduce manual effort
  • Upskill team members on data tools, AI applications, and best practices

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payments, card networks, acquiring, or issuing with exposure to interchange
  • Strong understanding of payment card economics, including interchange mechanics, scheme fees, and the four-party model
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, scenario analysis) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikview)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into business recommendations
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Direct experience working in interchange, pricing, or network economics roles
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and automation
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing interchange
  • Understanding of emerging payment trends (instant payments, digital wallets, BNPL, embedded finance)
  • Exposure to double-sided market dynamics and platform economics
