Job Description

Team Summary

The Hong Kong and Macau (HKM) Product and Solutions team is responsible for enabling and commercializing Visa products and solutions based on market and client requirements, driving the adoption of value-added services, and expanding Visa ecosystems through new digital partnerships. The HKM Product & Solution team is part of the Greater China Cluster, and the team works collaboratively with other functions including Issuer Business Development, Risk, Finance and Marketing to structure solutions and drive initiatives that grow Visa’s payment volume and revenue across consumer and business payments at both financial institutions and non-FIs.

What HKM Product Director, Consumer Solutions does at Visa

The HKM Product Director, Consumer Solutions will be responsible for driving adoption and usage of Visa consumer products (Credit, Debit, Prepaid, Offers and Loyalty) by solutioning and deploying new customer value propositions and value-added services, leading client engagements and pitches with subject matter expertise and thought leadership, and growing existing Visa card portfolios for both financial institutions and non-FIs. The individual will report into the Hong Kong and Macau Head of Product, and work closely with senior leaders across functions in Visa Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Hub Consumer Solutions team.

The role requires deep industry understanding of payment cards, retail banking landscape, channel management and digital customer experience. You will combine your product management experience with strong awareness of consumer and competitive trends in payments, with the goal of driving engagement and adoption of Visa products and solutions.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable success at working effectively across matrixed organizations, as well as the ability to define and articulate the product requirements for the market, develop and champion changes to product rules, policies and programs in order to align Visa client needs and ongoing growth of the network. The role will engage closely with various local, regional and global teams (Credit, Debit, Prepaid and Offers & Loyalty teams).

  • Develop and execute Visa’s HKM Consumer product strategy including partner enablement, pricing / rules adjustments, new value-added services rollout in order to deliver against targets (e.g. gross revenue, cards in force, payments volume, x-border volume and active rates) across Credit, Debit, Prepaid and Engagement Solutions

  • Lead the solutioning and CVP design in new card issuance pitches, product revamps and portfolio renewals by bringing together Visa and partners’ capabilities into a holistic, differentiated solution that addresses client objectives and requirements

  • Continually assess client card issuing portfolio performance (including acquisition, activation, usage and attrition), taking a data-driven and analytical approach to drive ongoing growth in the portfolio, identify optimization opportunities and promote the use of Visa products and solutions

  • Improve portfolio performance of selected issuers through card proposition revamps, customized benefits, and consultative engagements

  • Develop and maintain best practices, market landscape and competitor analysis

  • Provide product support including internal approvals for new consumer card programs

  • Build and maintain Visa Consumer Product value proposition through deploying cardholder benefits Platforms and value-added services leveraging Visa’s local, regional and global partnerships. Identify the right merchant promotion and digital partnership opportunities for Visa and our clients to promote usage of Visa products based on annual budgets

  • Work closely with the Regional Product team in Singapore to define and develop strategies to build, and refresh product content to support the Business Development team and our clients to grow, manage and optimize Consumer Product solutions

  • Able to lead and manage cross functional project teams on key product or market initiatives, with solid influencing skills for managing internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage, coach and develop team members to deliver against Consumer Solutions goals and maximize the team’s potential

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
-12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10
years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA
/JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
-12+ years’ experience in a leading bank, financial institution, global payment
network, or related payments company, with 5+ years of experience in
consumer credit cards and broad payments industry knowledge
-Proven experience in consultative selling, with strong ability in translating client
needs into product requirements and adapting existing product and solutions
to client and market’s needs
-Expert in strategic planning, data analysis, market research and program
management. Product management and/or management consulting
experience a plus
-Ability to influence strategy while driving tactical program execution, with
strong attention to details
-Experience in managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
-Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills in influencing
internal and external stakeholders
-Professional working proficiency in English essential, and fluency in Cantonese
or Mandarin strongly preferred
-Bachelor’s Degree Required
