Job Description
The Bank & Issuing Risk Solutions team, a core product team within Visa’s Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) organization, is committed to empowering banks and issuers in the fight against fraud. We leverage our expertise within the dynamic payments ecosystem to develop and deliver cutting-edge fraud risk solutions. Our mission is to provide tangible, value-added services that strengthen our clients' security posture and enhance their ability to confidently navigate the evolving landscape of financial crime, protect their portfolios, and enhance the efficiency of their operations.
The Director, Bank & Issuing Risk Solutions, will be responsible for evaluating, defining, and executing solutions that help financial institutions detect, prevent, and manage fraud operations. This strategic, cross-functional leader will focus on identifying emerging market needs within the bank and issuing space, with a particular focus on anti-money laundering (AML) and money movement, translating market insights into compelling solutions that deliver significant value to our customers and drive Visa Value-added Services growth. Working closely with regional product teams and technology to quickly convert creative ideas into working prototypes, leveraging existing Visa solutions and/or external capabilities to test and validate product concepts.
A successful candidate will be a highly adaptable leader, comfortable navigating new territory and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes in ambiguous situations. They must possess the ability to quickly forge relationships across all levels, identify critical courses of action, and effectively motivate diverse stakeholders to align and execute on shared objectives. This product role offers a wide range of initiatives – from shaping product strategy considering regulatory environments to launching risk solutions for adjacent Visa products such as Visa Direct – so the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about and comfortable with tackling diverse topics, often simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- AML Product Lead: Develop a point of view and strategy for an AML solution for bank and issuing clients. Transform strategy into actionable development plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, and effective solutions that help our clients combat financial crime.
- Cross-Product Innovation Lead: Develop and implement risk product strategies that align with client needs and Visa’s vision, this includes enabling risk solutions to aid in the success of adjacent Visa Products such as Visa Direct.
- Product Development: Serve as the primary liaison between the development team and stakeholders, providing clarifications during sprints, and ensuring features are built to specification.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with vital stakeholders, such as regional counterparts, corporate strategy, marketing, client services, finance, pricing, legal, and risk teams, to align efforts and effectively drive the introduction of new products into the market. Collect feedback to continuously refine product features.
- Commercialization: Strong commercial focus, in partnership with cross product teams, drive all aspects of bringing products to market, from market analysis and competitive positioning to pricing strategy, sales enablement, and post-launch revenue optimization.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS required. Post Graduate degree in Business Administration strongly preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience with payments/operations analytics or equivalent
Proven product development and delivery experience in payment products and solutions
Understanding of AML concepts and money movement. Expertise in topics strongly preferred
Critical thinker, strong organization skills, highly engaged and detail oriented
Capacity to summarize findings from data, curiosity to deep dive on root cause of trends, and ensure highest level of quality/rigor in market analysis
Ability to identify key strategic issues and to generate and deliver creative and innovative solutions to challenges and opportunities
Strong team player, self-motivated, self-starter, and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical in this role. The role will require extensive collaboration with multiple cross functional teams.
