Job Description
Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Senior Network Engineer (multiple openings) in Ashburn, VA to
- Responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, support, availability, and reliability of Visa’s credit and debit commercial networks (i.e. VisaNet), the enterprise corporate network, the global wide area network and the extranet and internet networks.
- Provide technical coordination, oversight and leadership for staff and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support of network systems of high complexity in extranet, commercial, and corporate environments.
- Design appropriate solutions based on environment, create detailed network designs, assess and test new and evolving technologies for performance and cost benefits.
- Provide third level technical support to the Visa client institutions and to technical teams within Visa to resolve network issues and to support the implementation of new network solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams and third parties on network development or support issues.
- Lead development, testing, and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.
- Provide the highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe.
- Develop processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments.
- Develop and position solutions and create a roadmap to effectively gain buy-in from all stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations to management teams to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.
- Position reports to the Ashburn, Virginia office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
- Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a network engineer-related occupation.
- High-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments;
- TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols;
- Designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs;
- Leading complex global projects from development through implementation;
- Solving complex systems and network environment issues;
- Understanding systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low level technical view;
- Writing technical design and building documentations for all aspects of a technical infrastructure;
- Representing technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans; and
- Determining business and customer needs, and providing the best solution to meet those needs.
Additional Information
Worksite: Ashburn, VA
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements: Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $127,421.00 USD to $164,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity.
