The Opportunity:
Visa's Technology Organization is seeking a motivated and curious entry-level Database Engineer to join our dynamic data team in Mentor, Ohio. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with a powerful blend of technologies including Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS), Python, and AWS Databricks.

You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the data pipelines that support critical business solutions. Reporting to the team Director, you will work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment with ample opportunities for mentorship and career growth within Visa. Key Responsibilities
ETL Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to move and transform data from various sources, including Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB.
Python Integration: Author and integrate Python scripts within SSIS packages to handle complex data processing logic and leverage advanced data structures.
Cloud Data Engineering: Develop Python and PySpark code in our AWS Databricks environment to extract and prepare data for reporting and secure flat file deliveries to clients and AWS storage.
Reporting & Automation: Create, automate, and support ad-hoc and recurring reports for internal and external stakeholders, primarily using SSIS and SQL.
Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance: Monitor data pipeline performance, investigate and resolve issues, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of our data.
Collaboration & Version Control: Collaborate effectively with team members using Git for version control, code reviews, and project management.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of work experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and specifically SSIS.
Basic programming skills, with a preference for or strong interest in learning Python.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to challenges.
High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Internship or academic project experience related to ETL, data processing, or database management.
Exposure to a cloud environment, particularly AWS.
Hands-on experience with a version control system like Git.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) or big data platforms (e.g., Databricks/Spark) is a significant plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 75,200.00 to 106,350.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
