Team Summary
The Business Partner function within the People Team at Visa acts as a trusted advisor and business partner to members of the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island (AuNZPI) leadership team and operates as the expert on talent and organizational issues. We are a team of commercially focused individuals that translate business objectives to talent priorities. We are comfortable navigating challenging forces in the dynamic payments space and are able to operate in a fast-paced environment with significant change. We work hand-in-hand with various stakeholders of the People Team for successful planning and delivery of talent programs and services to the business
We are hiring for a HRBP on a one-year fixed term contract based in Auckland
What a HRBP People does at Visa:
Work with leaders and key stakeholders to shape and implement effective people strategies and activities within the organization. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership focused on a transformational talent agenda designed to attract, develop and retain the best talent in the industry
- Understand business strategies and how to develop high impact human capital solutions
- Have a data driven mindset to assess organizational metrics and provide insights to the business
- Consistently measure effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs to ensure they are delivering desired outcomes
- Lead the people organization within client groups to develop and execute initiatives to become an Employer of Choice in the Technology industry.
- Provide daily support to managers with employee attraction, development, and retention issues which may include:
- Annual reviews
- Leadership coaching
- Career pathing
- Advanced People reporting and metrics
- Special project assistance
- Closely partners with People Centers of Excellences and other PBPs to deliver superior results to the business
- Serve as a role model and thought leader on Human Capital issues and coaches other people team members in their development
- Act as the senior People team representative for the NZ site, ensuring visibility and accessibility for employees and leaders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for NZ-based People-related matters, escalating and resolving issues locally.
- Represent NZ site perspectives in regional and global People forums to ensure local context is considered.
- Lead site-level engagement and change initiatives tailored to the NZ team.

The role will be part of the broader AuNZPI People team, reporting to the Head of People, AuNZPI based in Melbourne Australia. This role involves consulting with business stakeholders to enable the achievement of business objective across our New Zealand and Pacific Island business. This role will be accountable for a portfolio of client groups as well as delivering to broader People priorities across the market
The successful candidate will work closely with the Function and Market PBPs, People Advisors and COE’s to deliver fit for purpose people-solutions for their client groups.
Qualifications
What you will need:
- At least 10-12 years of experience in an innovative and dynamic business. Preference for experience in the Technology industry working in progressive HR models
- Experience designing and delivering programs in the following areas:
- Workforce Planning
- Talent Management
- Change Management
- Leadership Development
- Employee Engagement
- Cultural Change
- Organizational Design
- Ability to manage medium to enterprise-wide projects/initiatives with minimal supervision
- Experience in working effectively across all levels of an organization
- Ability to work in a changing environment and working in ambiguity
- Hands on approach willing to roll up sleeves to deliver results
- Successful implementation of operational and strategic programs and processes across a dispersed region
- Ability to assess an organization, identify gaps, and develop solutions
- Possess strong influencing and interpersonal skills, honed in a demanding and high performing work environment
- Have executive presence and strong communication skills to partner with senior levels of management
- Strong collaboration skills within and outside of HR
