Job Description
Visa is looking for a passionate and driven individual to lead the expansion and development of the Pacific Islands business. This presents an opportunity to craft both the clients and Visa’s business in New Zealand and across the Pacific Island markets along with your own career aspirations in an exciting area of payments.
As the Head of Pacific Islands (Account Executive), you will be responsible for the development and execution of Visa’s strategies, have a deep understanding of the business challenges, opportunities while collaborating with internal partners to bring the best of Visa to help grow your client’s business.

What an Account Executive does at Visa
Provides the leadership and focus to drive growth, profitability, performance and overall results for our clients and Visa's business.
Sets and manages the vision and strategy for important client relationships, in collaboration with cross-functional Visa stakeholders and the executive teams at the respective clients.
Partners with the senior management and key decision makers within our client institutions, to ensure that Visa's client teams are fully integrated at the business level with clients in order to develop and execute strategies that deliver growth for our clients businesses.
Establishes and manages a world class account team and organises them as a cohesive entity to manage existing relationships and secure new business opportunities over the short and long term.
Monitors payment industry, regulation and competitor trends to enable Visa's account teams to develop and implement proactive client engagement and execution strategies that protect and grow our client's and Visa's business.
Provides an articulate and influential external voice of Visa including representing Visa at industry forums.
Understand our clients’ strategies, priorities, needs and business processes. Presents strategic ideas and shares Visa's views on industry developments and dynamics, and advises clients on how Visa products and services can help them achieve their results.
Understands and influences product positioning and pricing of Visa and competitors' products in client's product portfolios.
Serves as a key member of the Visa NZSP Leadership Team, contributing to the overall business strategy formulation and delivery and, the overall leadership of the business.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of related sales and account management experience in the payments industry or similar experience.
- Strong knowledge of payment industry products, services and technologies.
- Proven ability to negotiate business agreements and to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships at C suite level.
- A strategic thinker who creates a clear vision for the organization and the related impact on cross business initiatives. A combination of excellent conceptual and analytic abilities, along with creativity and judgment.
- A demonstrated ability to implement strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions for clients of all sizes and act as a trusted advisor by developing significant long-term, trust based relationships.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analysing and summarizing the financial indicators necessary to measures business performance including P&L responsibility and accurately forecasting major sources of cost, revenue and risk.
- A track record of, and commitment to, managing, motivating sales team members and holding a high-performance team accountable.
- Collaborative, consensus-building management style that seeks to incorporate the best ideas across the entire organization and works to gain buy-in for ultimate success.
