As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. The Work itself:
- Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
- Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
- Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
- Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
- Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge in front-end development to understand and translate user experience requirements into scalable web interfaces.
- Designs and implements responsive, accessible, and performant UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular.
- Applies best practices in modular architecture, including Webpack and Module Federation, to build maintainable and reusable front-end systems.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver cohesive and intuitive user experiences.
- Leverages debugging tools and browser dev tools to identify and resolve UI issues across multiple platforms and devices.
- Participates in code reviews and contributes to front-end development standards and guidelines across teams.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
-5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
-2+ years of professional experience in front-end development, building scalable and performant web applications.
-Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on experience in modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
-Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
Experience with Webpack, Module Federation, and other modern front-end build tools and bundlers.
-Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
-Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards (WCAG), and web performance optimization.
-Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
-Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative development environments.
-Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 131,600.00 to 190,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
