Job Description
The Data Science Manager is a member of CEE Data Solutions team based in Warsaw. As a Data Science Manager, you will be accountable for leading the design, implementation and development of analytics tools and reports used for Visa's external clients. In this role, you will collaborate with Global Analytics, Business, and Technology teams across the organization to implement best-in-class services to drive business performance with a clear commercial ‘value’ and measurable ‘return’.
Principal Responsibilities
- Designing, developing and implementing analytical solutions for external partners
- Regular and bespoke data analysis to provide insights on the performance and highlighting opportunities for growth
- Create and deliver powerful business-centric insights from data through better visualization and storyboarding
- Collaborating with the internal and external partners to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes
- Enhancing existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics field
- Providing subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex data driven analytic projects
- Defining detailed analytic scope and methodology, and creating analytic plan
This is a hybrid position. This requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the office.
Qualifications
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of analytics expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
- Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experience
- Understanding of Payments and Banking Industry
- Good understanding of data, market intelligence, business intelligence
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problems
- Demonstrated resource planning and delivery skills
 Technical Expertise:
- Fluency in Python (for Data Science) and SQL is mandatory
- Good understanding of Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive)
- Experience in building statistical models and doing statistical analysis
- Hands on experience on processing extremely large data sets. Knowledge of payment network transactional data is a plus
- Ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies
- Define and design analytic approaches to business problems
- Fluency in English
 Business Experience:
- Results oriented with strong analytical, consultative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies. Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries is preferred
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a matrix environment
- Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and delivery
- Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn.
